**** Conclusion *** After reviewing many records and other researchers family trees, I think this birth record has mistakenly recorded the wrong name for his mother. Anders' (b 1715) mother should be Karin Larsdotter (Porka) born about 1693

There is only one child born Anders in 1715 with a father as "Anders Andersson" with the mother as Karin Jonsdotter NOT Karin Larsdotter as has been indicated/recorded -- see below, point number 5

- although there are a couple of Husförhör books for this time frame (AI:1,1711-1719; AI:2, 1730-1738) I can't make out any names. NOTE that on 18 Mar 2019, I have reviewed page by page both Fryksände (S) AI:1 (1698-1698) and Fryksände (S) AI:3 (1730-1738) AND I did not find the placename Ärnsjön or any given or patronymic names or combinations for our "Anders Andersson family". I do not know why ????



2. Husförhörs or Household records

a. the earliest vol, AI:1, 1698-1698, [ 18 Mar 2019 - I reviewed all pages and can't find names of people or places that would fit - this volume is damaged and only contains some fragments and a few pages. I can't make out any place names

b. Fryksände (S) AI:2 (1711-1719) Image 50 / Page 91; Ärnsjön ... this is likely Anders parents, but again no children are recorded and does not have any other identifying information such as birth year.


Anders - ähr död [are dead] [ death record, 24 Jun 1716]. His last examination was 1 Apr 1716, with communion 3 Feb. The person referred to as Anders, is Anders Andersson (b about 1687) and died 1716

Ränvoll, mod. first letter looks more like a R than the letter G [ see my post on Facebook, starting 17 Mar 2019 ]
- this is likely Ränvohl Persdotter [ ?? but the patronymic should be Larsdotter] (see Fryksände transcribed dödbook) and death record, vol CI:2, page 291 no 146; her death as 21 Sep 1740 age 85 <1655>

c. Fryksände (S) AI:3 (1730-1738) -- there is no record or listing for the placename Ärnsjön; 25 Feb 2019, I reviewed the pages of this volume, but no Arnsjön; also could not easily identify Anders Andersson

( ¹ ... ) son Anders Andersson was born 15 Mar 1745 at Arnsjön according to birth records. The person recording the information (likely, the priest) has most likely recorded the wrong year in the household records. I have noticed in the Fryksände and Östmark parish records that the year for the birth are either a year of 2 off the actual birth year. This makes everything extremely confussing since it is easy to mistake a person. The problem in this case is that there is another Anders born in 1744, and lived at Långsjöhöjden. Some other researchers have used the name of this person at Långsjöhöjden as "our Anders Andersson b 15 Mar 1745 at Ärnsjön". For example the Ancestry Family Tree (Ancestry Public Tree owner "Dis Nor 20181107" ) records a different Anders Andersson from the one born at Ärnsjön).

DISBYT: Roger Olof Holmstrand (id 5430) records her Finnish Family Name as "Manninen " and notes that her parents were Staffan Bengtsson Manninen (b 1677, m 1708 and d, 1736 at Östmark) and married to Ingeborg Markusdotter (b ? died 1748 at Östmark); and that she had previously been married (1731) to Henrik Michaelsson Sikainen (b 1711, d 1758) and 2 children, Maria b. 1755 and Per b. 1756
- but his Disbyt no longer seems to be active [20 Mar 2020]
- there are a couple Disbyt FTs and possibly others that record Anders Andersson b 1715 and his wife as Karin Staffansdotter Navilainen b 1713

BUT to the left of his name is "p. 4" - on page 4 is Östmark (no 3) and he is recorded towards the bottom (3rd from bottom) .... A.. [?] Sold. Anders Andersson (b 1714) and his examination marks 25 May 1787 and on 19 Oct 1787, but the Oct date is likely the date of communion (2 other people had communion on that date).
So he must have been still been alive on 19 Oct 1787

**** BUT his wife, Valborg Persdotter b 1721 is still recorded at Rundsjön (p 40); and then in the next book

- researcher Kenneth Bergman (see below, point 4) notes that in 1775 he remarried to Valborg Persdotter who was an widow from Runnesjön (Rundsjön) and notes that he was "Avskedad soldat änkeman i Mattjärn". The word 'avskedad' most common translation is dismissed, but more likely, "discharged". Anders Andersson was also a widower, and for awhile he lived at Multjärn.

NOTE: Runnsjön is most likely a village, about 11 kms south of Östmark; an earlier spelling is "Rundesjön" until 1787




3. Death: Anders Andersson born 1715: I have not found a death record - no family tree records a death, however, 1 Ancestry Tree "Eriksson - slaktträd" records a death of 1781: BUT he is recorded at the farm Rundsjön until 1781 and then at Östmark until 1787 - - I haven't found him recorded in the next household record (AI:3) at either Östmark or Rundsjön

- on 20 Feb 2019, I reviewed deaths from 1787-1801 of vol CI:1 (last page 436 to the end of 1810; and a few listings in 1811). Then there is a gap in the death records, since the next available book or vol is CI:2, starting with the year 1821.
- I also looked at deaths for the years 1785-1787, but no record

Note: in 1810, Anders Andersson (b 1715) would have been 95 years old. So, it is not likely he lived beyond age 100
Conclusion: I have recorded on the Legacy database, died between 1787 and 1810, even though this is a 20+ yrs gap

NO daughter Marit Andersdotter b 1742 as Kenneth Bergman or Eriksson -Slaktträd (and some other Ancestry Trees) indicate or suggest. I also viewed the pages (CI:1) for Dec 1741 and Jan 1742, but no birth recorded. So it is possible that she is a "stepdaughter" OR she was born in another parish OR her birth record was not recorded. Note: the first births for a separate Östmark parish starts with the year 1765

However, she is recorded as daughter to Anders Andersson: Fryksände parish ( (S) AI:5 (1750-1752) Image 47 / Page 83

- he has a number of notes for the court books. Apparently there is some dispute regarding the inheritance of the farm at Arnsjön. In 1749 Anders Andersson and his wife, Karin Stephansdotter (Staffansdotter) protested [?] that Anders' grandmother, Rangella Olofsdotter, who had in her will of 1 Feb 1735 had given the farm to her daughter Annika Andersdotter and her husband Bertil Olofsson. However, the claim by Anders Andersson was dismissed - the court said that Bertil Olofsson had provided for Rangella until her death. 1749 Öt 74

NOTE: although women were often named, it seems that at this time they usually did not have ownership rights
