10 Birth

Sweden Church Records : Idre parish Kappis [ Kapell - chapel or place of worship ], Kopparberg County; sampling in Mora Prosteri [ deanery/deanship - literal - but synonyms include residence, spot, office, situation ] - ; Westerås or Vesterås Stift [ Diocese ]; St Kopparberg L [ County ]

- - 29 Aug 1863 - Karenius, parents Tobias Torgersen and Marit Olsdotter, residence Storfatean [ or possibly Storfatern ?? ]; age of mother 43 <1820>

[ 25 Sep 2013 ] Conclusion:

The evidence is very probable that the Tobias Movold family left Tolga and lived for a few years (maybe 10 years) in Sweden.
This conclusion is based on the above Norway Parish Registers record (Leaving Tolga) and the Sweden Church Records - births for Anne, Thron, and Karenius. The 1916 Canada (Prairie Provinces) Census and the 1900 US Census records Thon's place of birth as Sweden; however the other census records for Thron and all the census records for Karenius record their place of birth as Norway.
