- born o.ä. [oätka=born outside of marriage]
- mother: Marit Jonsdotter from Fabäcken; born 24 May 1830, Ulvsjön [her parents, uncertain] [AI:11, p 300 ???? ]
- father: drang Per Jonsson from Conradsfors [born 2 May 1829, Långerud, Östmark parish; his parents were Jon Olsson and Maria Nilsdotter from Langerud, CI:3, p 77 2nd side]

I have researched Per Jonsson b 1829 parents etc, to some extent - see his research notes.

BUT I have researched a bit more on Marit Jonsdotter b 1830 - see Gertrud Andersdotter b 1804 research page - this eventually links John P Hedman to our "Porka" ancestors.

2. The following was written 7 Jul 2020 - I had done the research the day before, and based on reading a family history a few days earlier

[I had downloaded the book, but it is quite large, so I am creating my own PDF, with pages pertinent to my family relations; there are a number of cousins written about - but it is on the older Pavlion computer update with new drive in 2006 - noted 4 Oct 2021]

On page 222-223 [image 225 of the downloaded PDF]:
Family "Johan A. and Jon M. Anderson"; brothers [see research notes under Anders Jonsson, b 1827]
- in the first paragraph is the comment, "Another relative, a cousin, John Hedman, had established a home just south of the Sheyenne River about 2½ miles east of Sheyenne."
- a few days earlier, I had previously researched the brothers, Johan A. and Jon M. Anderson brothers family in Sweden [see research notes under Anders Jonsson, b 1827]
- with this, I have found out that a sister of Anders Jonsson b 1827 was Marit Jonsdotter b 24 May 1830 and she was the mother of John P Hedman b 1 Jun 1851, and that our family relationship goes back a number of generations.

Note: Jones FT records that the parents of John Petersson Hedman were:
Nils Persson b 1822 and Carrie [unknown] Peterson/Persdotter, b 1826
From Östmark Household records, AI:21, 1861-1865, page 407, Millmark

BUT this is NOT correct [7 Jul 2020]

BUT, I researched this family in Sweden records [close to 1.5 hours], and there is no son named John Peterson Hedman b 1851 with these parents. Nils Persson's birth: 6 Sep 1822, and his parents, Pär Nilsson and Gertrude Persdotter from Millmark (CI:3, page 17); I couldn't find the birth record for Karin Persdotter (the 1900 US records her birth as Sept 1826) but there is no record in Östmark Parish - it is possible that her birth was 27 Jun (CI:3, page 51 with parents Per Jonsson and Marit Jonsdotter from Elgahlla)

NOTE: I have researched his parents: - see his father's research page and his mother's page
- he was born outside of marriage ^8865,8881

  Noted events in his life were:

1. Emigration - 1868: Leaving for North America, 11 Apr 1868, Östmark, Värmland län, Sweden. ^8882,8883 Jon Persson b 1851 at Långerud leaves Östmark parish on 11 Apr 1851 for North America. Also his uncle, Jon Jonsson b 1835 leaves Östmark on the same day.

John married Stina Persdotter, daughter of Per Halstensson and Ingeborg Jonsdotter, about 1874 in North Dakota, United States.⁸⁸⁶⁵ (Stina Persdotter was born on 18 May 1855 in Östmark, Värmland län, Sweden ⁸⁸⁶³ and died on 16 Mar 1931 in Tisdale, Saskatchewan, Canada ⁸⁸⁶⁶.)
