Research Notes:
dates, etc from Jones Family Tree
Note: Jones FT and the BC death registration record that Alfred was born in Kandiyohi Co MN. I don't think this is correct, but it is possible. The family was living at Stockholm Twp and this is actually in Wright Co (see US Evangelical Lutheran Church records). The closet town was likely Cokato which is in Kandiyohi County and so I suspect that is why the BC death registration notes this location.
But the Stockholm Lutheran church records are not completely clear since there is also as birth/baptism for a child named Alfrid born 3 July 1880 (image 810 and 1099) - this would have been after the date for the I880 US Census, since Alfrid was not recorded with the family. But in the 1900 US census in Benson Co, ND (see - mother's research notes), there is a record of a son Alfred born Apr 1882 in MN and the BC death registration records his birth date as 2 Apr 1882. The Stockholm Lutheran church records do not record any child named Theodore Alfred (or Alfred Theodore) born in Apr 1882 (or any date in 1882) to parents John Hedman and wife Stina.
So my conclusion is: [and recorded on my Legacy database: 19 Jun 2020 ] son Alfrid (Hedman) b 3 Jul 1880 at Stockholm Twp, Wright Co, MN and that he died prior to Apr 1882 (there is not a death/burial or funeral notation for him) Another son, named Alfred Theodore was born in Apr 1882 and around this time, the family moved to ND. Most likely they moved after this Alfred was born in 1882. Note that is it not uncommon that Swedish parents will name a child after the name of a younger child who had died.
