Ingeborg Ericksson, born 1852 in Sweden and died in 1939 at Tribune, Saskatchewan. The following is a "Relationship Chart" for Ingeborg and my great-grandmother, Kristina Eriksson (b 1871) who was married to Ole Olsen Skaret [Kristina and Ole Skaret were the parents of my grandmother, Avey Rangborg Skaret married to Lars Thoresen Grue.

Our family relationship is quite distant. Ingeborg and Kristina were 4th Half-cousins with Ivar Nilsson the common ancestor. I am not sure how this chart will appear on the website page. Of course, any of Ingeborg Ericksson's siblings [9 siblings, with 6 surviving into adulthood) would have the same relationship as Ingeborg.

Summary: Ingeborg Eriksson, also known as Ida or Inga Eriksson [Olson]

Ingeborg came to North America in 1866 with her parents Kajsa Halstensdotter and Jöns Ericksson. Kajsa and Jöns were married in 1845 in Östmark, Sweden. The first record of the family in the US that I have been able to find is the 1875 MN State Census for Stockhom Twp in Wright Co.

On 31 Oct 1872, Cokato, MN, Ingeborg married Peter Olson (he was born 1847 in Norway). Ingeborg and Peter Olson farmed at Middle River Twp in Marshall Co, MN and then around 1900 the family moved to Stockholm Twp in Wright Co MN. Around 1910 the family made another move, this time to Canada. Peter homesteaded in the Tribune area in Saskatchewan - Tribune is about 50 kms south of Weyburn. However the homestead was about 10 kms south and east of Tribune in a community area known as Slagger. The earliest Canadian record of Peter and Ingeborg Olson is the 1911 Canada Census.

Peter and Ingeborg Olson had 10 children, all born in the area around Argyle, Marshall Co in MN. Two children died at a young age and the indication is that they died during a diptheria outbreak. The other 8 children grew up on the farm at Tribune. All were married, with many of them moving away from the farm. The oldest son, John spent time on the farm as a young man and he divided his time between SK and North Dakota and Montana. Another son, Enoch had taken a homestead close to his father - Enoch continued to farm for a number of years until about 1937. A daughter Mary married and they also farmed close by. Daughter Emma married and farmed for a few years close by her parents and then later moved to Montana. Daugther Kaisa had also moved to Montana and her husband lived for awhile in Regina. Daughter Esther married and farmed close by her parents and then about 1937 they moved north of Regina to farm. Daughter Ida was married and they farmed in the Slagger area for a few years and then by 1945, moved to Winnipeg. A son Oliver had married and likely farmed in the area close to his parents, but eventually moved to the High River, Alberta area.

I have research extensively Ingeborg's family using Family Trees on Ancestry and using newspapers (found on Newspapers.com). Sharon Knapp's FT appears to be more extensive, including a couple of photos. For most of the children, I have used Sharons FT as a starting point. On each of the children's research pages I have recorded the information that I have gathered. However, please noted that I have not entered the names of further descendants although much information is included in the notes

NOTE: image quality is poor and very difficult to read; I used Homestead index to confirm info from 1916 census, then searched for the district and sub-district using Library and Canada which is a bit laborious; but with this, it is fairly easy to find; Neither image is overly clear, but using automated genealogy site [https://automatedgenealogy.com/census11/SplitView.jsp?id=75805&frag=e085/e002102547&dir=1911b] and their transcription it is easier to read, although the spelling of name is obscure
