1. source: Ole Johan Nyass, Etteregister i tidsromment 1717-1969 for Grueslekten, page 15

- The son of Jon Simenson, Simen Johnsen Grue, born 1766 married in 1800 to Eli Estensdatter Trøen, born 1777. At the age of 15 years, he helped his father in school happenings (teaching etc), so they both worked in the wide area for one salary. Simen also carried on his father's job [teaching?]. He is remmebered for moving the houses/buildings from Gruvåsen down to the lake where there was lots of sun*. He died on 2 August 1813 at the age of 47 years. Eli was 36 hears old at this time, and it was very difficult for her to carry on with the farm with children under age. Simen Jonsen Grue and Eli had four children.

- Shortly after the death of of Simen Jonsen, Per Jonsen Moseng, b. 1795, d 1885 came to live with Eli to help her with the farm work. His mother was Kari Jonsdatter Grue, b 1758 on Gruåvasa, a sister to to Simen Jonsen Grue. She had married Jon Eriksen and they lived at the Moseng farm.

- Eli had no legal rights to the farm; after a few years Per Jonsen Moseng and Eli married. Per had become a very able farmer and very able stepfather. Per and Eli had three children.

- When John Simenson Grue, born 1804, became of legal age, he took the legal rights to the farm. In 1831 he gave one-half of the estate to Per Jonsen Moseng and Eli [ likely bnr 1 ] [ likely Jon Simensen, born 1804 kept ownership of Bnr 3

* in the 1886 Matrikel this is recorded as Bruksnr 1 (Gård 123) and was called Gruben
- this would have been the place we visited in 1980 (a bit lower down from this farm and the farm of Solveig Moseng, is bnr 3 and also recorded as Gruben)

* in the 1950 Matrikkel - Bruksnr 1 (Gård 123, Berg) - Gruben, owner Esten Øien Moseng;
- Bruksnr 3 (Gård 123, Berg) - Gruben, owner Johannes P Grue
