Simon Larsson

  Research Notes:

Summary: Simon Larsson (Hotakka) was born in 1727 and he was my 1 cousin, but 8 times removed.
Simon Larsson's grandfather was my 8th great grandfather, Anders Andersson Hotakka (b abt 1638 and died abt 1691).

Simon Larsson was married twice. His first marriage was to Karin Abrahamsdotter but she died in 1758 following the birth of their daughter, Marit Simonsdotter in 1757. Karin Abrahamsdotter had been previously married and at least 2 of her children would have been considered step-children to Simon Larsson.

Simon Larsson married a second time to Kerstin Henriksdotter (Tarvainen), b 1729. Her great grandfather, Bengt Henriksson Manninen (b abt 1628 and died before 1688) was my 7th great grandfather. Simon Larsson and Kerstin had 6 children, and they lived most of their lives at the farm or village of Strandbråten in Fryksände parish in Värmland. See my notes below regarding the Household Records.

Unfortunately, I have lost track of some of the children of Simon Larsson. I have not researched the families of 2 of his daughters who had married and moved to the current parish of Norra Ny (this is about 50 kms to the east of Östmark). The names of the families are noted by a couple of the family tree researchers (FT's) that I have consulted by they do not include further descendants.

Simon Larsson's son, Bengt Simonsson (b 1762) had died in 1792. I do not think he was married or that he had any children. Simon Larsson's other son, Anders Simonsdon (b 1767) was married and had 7children, one who died as an infant - I have lost track of his children. I have also lost track of Anders Simonsson after 1824 (see below for the last household record volume). His other children, I have also lost track of.

Bengtsdotter and her 1st marriage was to our Henrik Larsson Manninen. [see my Legacy database]
