Gertrud Larsdotter Porkka

   Another name for Gertrud was Gertrud Larsdotter Porkka.⁵⁷³²

  Research Notes:

1. Kenneth Bergman records death as about 1720 [originally viewed and recorded in my Legacy database in Feb 2019 but have made noted changes on 3 Feb 2020]

BUT the death records (CI:1) for the year 1720 only include one person with the name Gertrud Larsdotter, died 28 Feb 1720 at Arnsjön [?] at age 80 years <1640> ; the handwriting is quite difficult to read, particularly the given name and the place - but using the transcribed deaths for Fryksände , we have "Gertrud Larsdotter" from Åshagen. There is a place name of Åshagen, a few kms south Torsby.
Also note that the next death record for 3 Mar 1720 is for Britta Jonsdotter from the same place, age 16.

[ Note: the FamilySearch FT (id, LV7N-MTW for Lars Klemetsson Porkka) only includes a birth of 1640 with no given name [...Larsdotter]. The geni.com FT (https://www.geni.com/people/Lars-Klemetsson-Porkka/6000000021095518033) only includes her name and birth with her father as Lars Klemetsson Porkka. However, by clicking on Gertrud Larsdotter there is showing a couple of FT from MyHeritage that notes the same birth/death as Kenneth Bergman, and notes that she was married to Anders Andersson Hotakka] this FT is not as recent as the one following.


2. NOTE: there is another FamilySearch FT (id, L8MS-WBW for Lars Klemetsson Porkka) that has some input from Manuel Aguilar Hendrickson and dated 21 Nov 2019. By going to his daughter, Gertrud Larsdotter Porkka (id, LBTK-YTR) there is information added by 'Jackson, Jessica Anne_2' with a date as 26 Jun 2018 (also input from 'NJTM_5' in May 2018) and with this link, Gertrud's father is Lars Klemetsson and she is married abt 1668 (no evidence of marriage date, only abt 1 year earlier than birth of son Anders) to Anders Andersson Hotakka (id, KHZS-NJX), again with information input from Manuel Aguilar Hendrickson - Manuel references Richard Broberg's book, "Finsk invandring till mellersta Sverige", from 1988, page 114f.

8 Jul 2021: I reviewed the above FamilySearch FT again.
here are some new entries by Leroy Roberts, most on 14 Apr 2021. These changes confirm that burial/death information -
died 28 Feb 1920 buried on 17 Mar 1720 and note the Fryksände parish record [CI:1, 1707-1732, page 347 no 7]. This records
the location of death as Åshagen.

BUT also from the above FT, there is a record of Gertrud Larsdotter [Porkka] remarried to Jöns Ivarsson, 1640-1714.
One obvious problem with this notation is that it references a marriage of John Ifvarsson and Gertrud Larsdotter on 27 Dec 1778 - but Gertrud died in 1720, Leroy Roberts deleted this marriage reference.

The reference for Jöns Ivarsson's death/burial is likely from Rikard Stadler, 20 Dec 2018. Jöns Ivarsson died 17 Feb 1714 at the age of 70 years and 8 months, and he was buried on 26 Feb [confirmed with CI:1, p 335, 2nd side, abt mid-page]. Place name is hard to read, but Fryskände transcribed records, Västanvik. [likely, Fryksände (S) AI:2 (1711-1719) Page 13, Västanvik]

The other interesting thing about this notation is that it records a daughter, Marit Jönsdotter abt 1678 at Västanvik
and died there on 16 Aug 1774 at the age of 66 [married on 26 Dec 1763 to Håkan Pålsson, 1675-1763 and with 7 children].

... BUT --- transcribed marriages: on 26 Dec 1707, Håkan Pålsson and Marit Jönsdotter, b from Västanik and then
DISBYT: Håkan Pålsson, 1679 at Lysvik -1763, m . 1707 to Marit Jönsdotter, 1678-1744 [Gunilla Brolund, id 28445]
... but nothing on parents of Marit
... this is likely the family, Fryksände (S) AI:4 (1741-1749) Page 207, Västtanvik

Västtanvik is a couple of kms south of Thorsby and Åshagen is about another couple of kms. Both Åshagen and Västtanvik
are maybe about 25-30 kms to the south of Fäbacken and Runsjön, the home places of the Porkka's and a bit further to Arnsjön.

If this is the same Gertrud Larsdotter Porkka (1640-1720) that was married to Anders Andersson Hotakka (1638-1691), it is not
unreasonable to think that she remarried and moved to to the Västtanvik/Åshagen area. This is the first mention of a second marriage, and so the information is somewhat question. I have found no other FTs that records Gertrud Larsdotter's second marriage. AND there does not seem to be any evidence that we are talking about the same person. The given names of Gertrud and Lars are very common, and the problem with most of the FTs that I review, the 'owner' does not provide any rationale for their entries.

Gertrud married Anders Andersson Hotakka, son of Anders Jönsson Hotakka and Ingrid. (Anders Andersson Hotakka was born about 1638 in Fryksände, Värmland län, Sweden ⁵⁷³² and died about 1691 in Fryksände, Värmland län, Sweden ⁵⁷³².)
