f, 1900 US Stilaguamish, Snohomish Co, WA, p 8 ancestry
Sarah Wold, widow, records one 1 child, 1 living; son Ole P Wold, son (chopping wood) age 22 <1877/1878> in MN, Petter Botten, son-in-law and Marie Botten, daughter [Peter - general merchant)
??? - Ole P Wold, born in 1877 - Ole could possibly be the son of Lars E Wold who had married Sara Prestlien a year or two after Nils M Prestlien died; Lars E Wold died abt 1895; see paper folder for Sara's obit (www.sta.stparchive.com ;; small time newspapers) - BUT there is no other records for an Ole P Wold -- so, MOST LIKELY, this person is Ole N Prestlien, and the record is mis-recorded [ 19 Sep 2014 ]
2. Norse to the New Northwest" by Bob H Hansen. The Seattle Times Magazine, 19 Oct 1975, p 9 [ article in Nils M Prestlien folder ]
- records that Nils Mikkelsen Prestlien was the first settler on Prestlien's Bluff - also records that a grandaughter to Nils Mikkelsen Prestlien, Mrs Jalmer I Moe, obtained copies of Nil's homestead application (1886) from the US National Archives
- same article by Bob H Hansen referred above notes that Nils Mikkelsen Prestlien had in 1883 had cleared a homesite, built a lean-to and then a cabin. If Nils and Iver travelled together, then it is likely that Iver was in the Silvana area by 1883 --- it is also possible that Michael Anderson with wife Marit Prestlien (sister to Iver and Nils) may also have traveled at the same time - according to her obit, they arrived at Bellingham Bay in 1883
