23 Apr 1905, Jefferson County Genealogical Society Archives, Port Townsend, WA; Daily Leader Laid to Rest "All that was mortal of the late Paul Nordby was interred in the Masonic cemetery yesterday afternoon, the body having been sent here from Hoodsport where he died on Friday, for burial. Services over the remains was held from the Lutheran Church of this city after the arrival yesterday. Deceased was thirty-three years of age the cause of his demise being tuberculosis. He leaves a wife and three children to mourn his loss, besides a number of relatives in and about this city where he was well known."
24 April 1905, from Ancestors..... - copy of an obit, likely from the Mason County Journal [ NOT confirmed] - died at the residence of his parents on April 21 from TB - born in Norway, Mar 1, 1872; came to US with his parents in 1887 and to Hoodsport in [ ... date crossed off and in handwriting, May 20, 1889 ] - in late years his home has been in Oregon - he leaves, beside his parents, a wife and three children at Olney, OR [ Clatsop Co, OR; abt 20 kms south of Asotria; four sisters, Mrs P G Clements, Mrs C I Matson, Mrs A J Anderson and Mrs C H Olberg, all of Port Townsend, and three brothers, Peter and Henry of Port Townsend and "J Throward, who is in Minnesota, studying for the ministry". - brothers/sisters (except J Thorward) were present when he died - "Among his last words were these: 'Pray that Jesus will come quickly and take me'. When asked, "Are you sure he will do so?' he replied 'Yes, sure." - funeral was last Saturday in Hoodsport - burial at Port Townsend
