bullet  Research Notes:

1. Death - funeral brochure, 9 Sep 1993 --- -- Note: I was at the funeral - pallbearer (and also at Dick's funeral, 1978) [ note, Olga and Dick were my god-parents ]

- gives dates of birth, death, burial
- baptized and confirmed at Scandia; went to Trondson School
- married 1935
- farmed - Dick worked in town and so much of the farm work was done be Olga
- moved to Camrose in 1954 [ they lived on 51 Ave and likely between 54 and 56 street - my Grandma Jonas, my mom's mother, lived across the street ]
- she worked in the kitchen at CLBI (Canadian Bible Institute), CLC (Camrose Lutheran College) and Bethany Home
- Dick passed away in 1978
- survived by her son Roger (Beverly) of Vermillion and their family Shauanna (Gary) Yaremchuk of Sherwood Park, Ronald (Lori) of Fort St John, and Jay B of Vermillion; Cheryl (Larry) Olson of High Prairie and their family Selina (Bob) Read of Ohaton, Suzette (Mark) Norton of Tolfied, Scott of Whitecourt; eight great-grandchildren Brett, Logan, Brendon, Jessica, Amanda, Aaron, Erika and Samantha; one brother, Raymond (Olga) Skaret and one sister-in-law, Ruth Skaret
- preceased by her husband Dick in 1978; her parents Ole and Kristina; sisters Avey Grue, Mary Throndson, Ragnhild Ostrem; brothers Arthur, Arthur Ole, William, Helmer, Richard, and Richard Palmer

- survived by: Robert [ Roger ] and Beverly Erickson of Vermilion ...... ; Cheryl (Larry) Olson of High Prairie, AB ......
- predeceased by parents Ole and Kristina ..... (as above)

3. Footsteps along the Stony - p 171-172 -- likely submitted by Olga, but this isn't confirmed

- moved to Camrose in 1952
- about 1937, Dick started working with Bradley's Sheet Metal in Camrose
- Roger Byrce born 19 May 1937
- Cheryl Jocolyn born 13 Oct 1941
- Cherrie's name is noted as Cheryl Jocolyn and her marriage to Larry Olson from Ohaton is noted as 10 Jan 1959 - this is likely more accurate than the Grambo book

4. Ancestry.com Public Member Tree; McKinnon Family Tree --- has the wrong 'Olga Erickson' and thus Skaret, saying she lived in MN in 1930 US Census and died with a US SDDI card/index
( http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/15299945/person/18461487175 )
- I sent an email through ancestry.com to the owner of the this tree requesting corrections. But as of Jun 2016 no reponse and the information is still incorrect. I made a "comment" on Olga's page regarding this.

5. From "Grin and Skaret"
- marriage photo - trees in the background
- married at home (Ole and Kristina)

- Roger: his dad had kept a diary, but each entry was 1 or 2 words - When Roger was born, "....Olga had a baby boy ... I cleaned the barn"
- Cherrie was adopted - her father had died in the war, and her mother died a bit later of consumption; her mother requested Dick and Olga and so they adopted her
