NOTE: I have not been able to find a birth record for Nils Mattson - I have looked at various options in the Sweden Church records, but none have a record of his birth/baptism Family Search FT: LVBF-3V4 - name as Christine Moody, 1827, married to Nels Mattson [28 Oct 2021 viewing of pages] Nils Mattson, b 2 Aug 1827 at Vasa, Västra Götaland, Sweden - this is a newer parish name; nothing before 1908. Prior to 1908, you have to look at Göteborgs Domkyrkoförsamling (O), C:5, 1816-1827 ; but no birth in 1827 for someone named Nils or in 1826 or 1828 in this volume.
Trinity Lutheran Church records he was born in Wäre [?], Sweden [no parish or placename in Sweden - is it short for Värmland ?; died 15 Aug 1890; arrived in US in 1854 But no birth in Fryskände, Östmark or Lekvattnet; no listing on Ancestry's collection for Swedish Emigratants from Church books ; nothing in the above parishes in moving out records - 25 Oct 2021
Nils Larson Mattson's birth parish is not clear. His birth date is from the FamilySearch FT.
Note: Trinity Lutheran Church records (image 853) note that he arrived in North America in 1854. I have not researched his emigration.
