BUT the birth cannot be on 17th since Marit died on the 14th -- there are 'ditto' marks on the line for Carolina referring to the person on the line above. Conclusion: Since Marit died at childbirth and since I haven't found any reference for this daughter I have to assume she died on the same day as her mother - she was baptised on the 14 Aug 1879. I can't be certain that Carolina died, but it is likely.
After Marit died, daughter Anna Stina was adopted by A P Cedarstrom and they eventually left for Kansas;
son Otto stayed with his father Henrik (see 1880 Census). It is possible that Carolina did not die - she IS NOT recorded in the death records at this time, which I find a bit strange.
