NOTE: Kjerstin Persdotter is my 2nd half cousin
- her father:Per Halstensson, 1778-1824
- Per's father:Halsten Ifvarsson, 1749-1839
- Halsten's father:Ifvar Nilsson, 1713-1787;

Ifvar Nilsson was my 6th great grandfather
- Ifvar Nilsson was married 3 times, with his first wife, married 1738:
Karin Olofsdotter, 1720-1743, with one son, Nils 1741-1829 - my direct line 5th great-grandfather

- Ifvar Nillson, with 2nd wife; married 1748:
Britta Engelbretsdotter, 1719-1878, with 4 children, the oldest Halsten Ifvarsson, 1749-1839

- Ifvar Nilsson with 3rd wife, married 1759:
Catharina Bengtsdotter, 1723-1791; no children

Thus, many of the Settergren families in Minnesota are my relations ...

- the information of the FT below, led me to a new family relationship since Kristin marriage Erik N Lofgren - so I had to check this out and spent many hours researching. BUT Erik N Lofgren is NOT related to my "Lofgrens". However his children are.

- led me to the family of Kristin Persdotter, b 1862 and died in Polk Co, MN - married to Erick Nilsson Lofgren, 1858-1938 [BUT no relationship to 'my Lofgren's'] and a number of her siblings to Meeker Co, south and a bit east of Dassel MN. Her siblings used the surname "Settergren" in the US - have NOT researched them much

Peter Settergren b 13 Nov 1879, Östmark - his parents were Per Jonson, 1819-1876 and Kjerstin Persdotter, 1819-1895, and her parents were Per/Pär Hallstensson 1778-1824 and Karin Jonsdotter, 1780-1864 and another son was Hallsten Persson, 1804-1855 and married to Stina Jönsdotter, 1802-1863 - one of their sons was Pehr Hallstensson, 1823-Jan 1905, Sheyenne, Eddy Co ND; and another son Olof Halstensson/ Hallsten, b 1838 and died 1917 Sheyenne, Eddy Co, ND

then, twins, Marit and Kjerstin, b 14 Nov 1844; [CI:3, page 213, 1st side, Per Jonsson and Kjerstin Persdotter, age 35; Mellmark]
and Marit died 14 Jul 1845; Kjerstin died 15 Nov 1845

** This record is a bit messy and hard to read since names seem to be written over each other and names crossed off. But this records Kjerstin Persdotter and her first husband, Sven, b 1819 and died in 1841, and the their son Sven b 1842. Kjertsin then remarried to Per Jonsson b 1819 and they twin girls b 1884, but both died in 1845.

Caution!!! DO NOT Confuse, this Per Jonsson and wife Kjerstin Persdotter both born in 1819 and lived at Sörmark Säter and another married coupled, Per Jonsson and wife Gjertrude Halstensdtr who lived at the village/farm of Sörmark. Some Family Trees had made this mistake and at times seem to combine the 2 families.

1. Emirgation, 1882, 4 May 1882, Olso, Norway. ⁹¹³⁸ Kristin/Kristina Persson [Persdotter] age 20 [b 1862] leaves Östmark parish in Sweden. She most likely travels with her brother, Halsten age 26 [b 1855]. They registered with the Olso emirgation to leave Olso on 4 May 1882. They designation is noted as Dassel [MN]

Kjerstin married Sven Jonsson on 26 Dec 1839 in Östmark, Värmland län, Sweden.⁹¹³⁴ (Sven Jonsson was born on 20 Nov 1819 in Östmark, Värmland län, Sweden and died on 24 Nov 1841 in Östmark, Värmland län, Sweden ⁹¹³⁴.)
