1. Emigration, 1882: Leaving for North America, 6 Apr 1882, Bjuråker, Gävleborg län, Sweden. 9138,9980 Halsten spent most of his life in Sweden at Sormark with his family. In 1881 he moved to Bjuråker parish in Gävleborg. It is not clear why he moved here, perhaps for military service. In Apr 1882 he left Bjuråker to travel to North America. He likely had returned to Östmark and then he and his sister, Kristin/Kristina b 1819, travel to Olso, Norway where they register on 4 May 1882, traveling to Dassel MN
