bullet  Research Notes:

1. Note: Discrepancies with date of birth: [6 Oct 2019]

A. his birth/baptism record (CI:3, p 247, mid page) records his birth as 17 Feb 1847 with his baptism on 20 Feb - most likely correct since the record is closest to the date of the event.
However, the household records, starting with vol AI:20, page 66 (1861), his birth is recorded as 11 Feb 1847 and this is the date of birth in subsequent volumes. Also he is not recorded with his parents in vol AI:16, 1856-1859 or AI:18, 1860-1861. I have not been able to find him in these volumes

At first look, it seems likely that this is the wrong "Per Persson", since it records his birth as 11 Feb 1842, and then death in 1922
BUT "our Per Persson was born in 1847" (the son of Per Engelbretsson and Kjerstin Månsdotter). In vol AI:24, page 46 (Björsviken) there is a person named Per Persson b 11 Feb 1842 and in the right hand column comments seem to indicate a marriage and then he is moving to Trandstrand parish. This volumen records he was born at Björsviken.

6 Oct 2019: I reviewed birth records of 1842 in Östmark looking for a child name Per and a father named Per.
There is no one born on the date 11 Feb 1842; there are two children named Per. The first was b 28 May at
N. Metbacken and father Per Eriksson, and the second Per b 31 Oct at N. Metbacken and father Per Andersson

So it is quite possible that the person name Per Persson at Björsviken (and the same page as the Per Engelbretsson family) had the incorrect birth date of 11 Feb 1842 recorded by the priest and this date continued to be recorded as this Per Persson's birthdate.

The comments on the right side, but some comments are hard to read. However, reviewing the Östmark Parish moving out records, (B:2 image 79 no 44: 6 Oct 1871), it is recorded that Per Persson from Björsviken to Trandstrand (Kopparberg län). And in Trandstrand parish moving in records (Trandstrand B:1, image 13 no 8) references 148 of household records.

Household records:
Transtrand (W) AI:13b (1871-1880) Image 72 / Page 148, Ö. Långstrand
- first as a drang,
then married 14 Jan 1872 to Anna Larsdotter b 27 Jan 1841; his birth is recorded as 11 Feb 1842
and, daughter Ida Christina b 2 Jun 1872.

Transtrand (W) AIIa:5 (1915-1925) Image 710 / Page 58, Sandmon
Per Persson - died
2nd marriage: 28 May 1893 to Hellena Olsdotter Denis, b 23 Feb 1850

Deaths/burials: Transtrand (W) F:7 (1895-1922) Image 950 / Page 92, no 12, Sandmon; 28 Apr 1922 - Per Persson

Marriages, Transtrand (W) EI:3 (1862-1894) Image 19, no 13; 14 Jan 1872 to Anna Larsdotter

Reviewing some additional records from Trandstrand parish, Per Persson's birth is always recorded as 11 Feb 1842 (the digital '2' is clearly written).

Conclusion:
(1) It is likely impossible to prove or find other information that clearly records the birth. However, I believe it is reasonable to conclude that his birth is in fact 17 Feb 1747 as is noted in the birth/baptism record from Östmark.

(2) It is also reasonable to conclude that the person named Per Persson in the household records (AI:24, page 46, Björsviken), is the same person (as the birth/baptism record), albeit with less confidence. In this volume, it is likely the priest made another recording error (the first error was recording his birth as 11 Feb), mistakenly recording his birth as 11 Feb 1842.

(3) It is also reasonable to concluded that the pers name Per Persson in the Trandstrand parish is the same person as named in the Östmark parish birth/baptism record and that the correct birth should be 17 Feb 1747.

Therefore, on my Legacy database I will records his birth as 17 Feb 1847 and his death as 28 Apr 1922.

Note: it is never really satisfying to conclude that the parish priest makes a mistake in recording details. However, it seems to happen on ocassion and in my experince more frequently in Östmark and Fryksände parish.

3. Household records

Östmark (S) AI:22 (1866-1870) Image 18 / Page 13, Östmark
drang; birth 11 Feb 1870? - reference to page 65 in 1867 which is with his parents, Björsviken

then a note of page 65 "... 8 Jan or 11 1869, Bev. [?] att till Loos... " ??? bev could be 'Feb. or Pev. or Veb'. but I can't find that abbreviation; also what does "att" mean ??? - atteft or attef
OR: 'bev' or meaning "beveka=to move, beveklig=moving" ?????

not recorded with those dates in moving out records: (C1:4), but in this volume on page 31, 1st side about mid page for 25/4, there is a record for Per Persson, Östmark lågen ... to America; BUT what is lågen, mean ????; there is no other identifying information ???

- I did look at Loos parish moving in records (B:2, 1862-1895) images 13 to 21, 1866 to 1871 but he is not recorded
BUT it looks like this didn't happened. He may have gone to Loos for awhile but based on volume AI:24, he returned to Östmark and to Björsviken.
