  Research Notes:

There is NO Agreement on Ingrid Andersdotter's birth or death. It is likely she was born between 1635 and 1640. She likely died sometime before 1707. However, she is not recorded on the transcribed Fryksände parish death book, indicating her death was likely before abt 1707. The household record book (AI:2, 1711-1719, p 91) does not appear to record her name under the farm Årnsjön, although it is likely her son Mats Olofsson (possbly recorded as "Karian" and his wife are noted) [this household record volume is difficult to verify since no other information such as birth year is noted].

I have reviewed a number of sources, including the household records and birth/death volumes for Fryksände parish. When I have a clear records from the parish records, I have included this as a source citation. Otherwise I have a source citation under "research" - for the most part I have used the DISBYT FT [ Lennart Gustafson, id 36681; update, 3 Feb 2014, and added others as appropriate ]. I have also sourced Kenneth Bergman's data.

FFN, is likely Karhinen (Finnish Family Names by ..... Myhrvold and Nilcas Persson and ...) and spelled, Karian
- does not record any name with Karjainen ..... BUT a number of "Karhinen", including Olof Karhinen at
Årnsjön in 1667 and then Mats Karhinen at Årnsjön in 1710

- on website, Kenneth Bergman refers to some court records (from 1701-1725) [ these are only on a CD for purchase; see, http://www.ostra-amtervik.se/hbf/dombok/dombocker.htm ]. As with other court records and summaries it is difficult to follow a family line. But this seems to suggest that when Olof Karhinen died (sometime before 1725) his son Mats Olofsson took over the farm (or had to pay a 'lean/loan' to creditors Per Bondsson of and Per Nilsson from S), and that Mats had a brother name, Olof Olofsson. These court notes also indicate that Mats Olofsson's mother was Ingrid Andersdotter and that her brother Johan Andersson Stenman (soldier name?) has been waiting for some time for the farm/land to be settled. Note: I have not found another reference to this last name, Stenman.

1/2 Arnsjön, which Finn Mats Karian bought in 1705 from Per Bondesson in Östmark for 60 years [from other court documents, I understand that Per Bondesson from Östmark may have had a type of lean or a loan on the farm after the death of Anders Andersson (b 1638, d 1691] [- see Kenneth Bergman's notes on Anders Andersson (b 1638) page.]

The soldier Johan Stenman [Johan Andersson b abt 1625?] calls for his father's land to be settled in Arnsjön from Mats Karian in Arnsjön. This did not occur or was delayed because the wife is waiting for children and she should not be left alone.

Mats Olofsson in Arnsjön proves that his mother Ingrid Andersdotter on the death bed bequeathed him his property, and that is why his brother Olof Olofsson or other the siblings do not have the right to take anything from her estate.
What Olof [Olofsson] payed at the the funeral should be deducted from the work for which the Mats performed for
Olof.

typically indicating she has died or moved; the last examination on 13 Feb 1759, but son is also recorded on this date


¹... Many family trees have recorded Gunilla Olofsdotter died in 1783. This death date is highly unlikely, since she would have been around 118 years old at death. I have researched the name of Gunilla Olofsdotter and concluded that the name is more likely Rangela Olofsdotter.

I have reviewed the death/burial records for 1783 in both Fryksände and Östmark parishes, but she [Gunnilla Olofsdotter] is NOT recorded. BUT her daughter, Annika Andersdotter died in 1783:

- However, a daugther, Annika Andersdotter died on 3 Feb 1783 at Ärnsjön at the age of 81, meaning her birth was about 1702 [Östmark (S) CI:1 (1765-1818) Image 184 / Page 375, no 11]
--- she was married 3 times - see her research notes.
- this death is noted on Kenneth Bergmans' data also
