  Research Notes:

1. Los Congregation records, AIIa:1, 1895-1904, page 307, Hiviåsen

- Anna Maria Eriksdotter (b 1881) is living with her parents, Erik Andersson and then on 27 Nov 1897 she moves to a place at Fågelsjö (page 611) and then on 9 Jul 1900 she returns to her parents place

- then, on page 307 (line 13) it records that she is married on 31 Mar 1902 [ Los marriage records, E:4, 1985-1928, page 18, no 3; Svante Jakobsson is from Huskölen in Ytterhogdal ] to Svante ? Jakobsson from Ytterhogdal in Jämtland; and on 10 Apr 1902 she moves to Ytterhogdal

2. Ytterhogdal Congregation records, AIIa:1, 1897-1908, page 261, Huskölen

- page 261 they are recorded at his parents place, and then on line 18 and 19 they are separate, but still at same place; Anna Maria arrived 16 Apr 1902; and they move on 3 Jun 1902 to Brj i Uärum ??? - the first word/letter looks like it would be a farm/locality or it is an abbreviation; 'i' usually refers to 'in'; the last: first letter is either a 'U' or 'V', next ä, next u, then 'm' or 'n'

In the moving out records for Ytterhogdal [B:3, page 11], the handwriting is a bit better, with the first letter definitely a 'B', second letter maybe letter o, a, or e, maybe i but no dot above it, and the last letter is likely a 'g' or 'j' with the last word either 'Uärum' or 'Uärun' [the first letter is not 'V' since a couple of lines above there is a word that has a definite 'V' that is different
- I can't find a parish that starts with the letter B and then ends in a second word of either 'Uärum' or 'Uärun'; perhaps the last word refers to a 'Härad' or district, but I still can't find a parish starting with 'B' and that 'Härad'. I have lost track of them.

Note, the place is actually referring to 'By i Värum.' [ By parish in Värmland län ; see next point ] ; and that leaving at the
same time is Jakob Svensson (born in 1856, Ytterhogdal)


27 Dec 2017 I checked with DISBYT and Hans-Åke Torsell data and he had Anna Maria's year of death of 1927 in Ljusdal parish. With this clue, I was able to verify her death and that her surname had changed to 'Backlöf' and through this I was to follow her family through the church books


3. Change of surname to ' Backlöf ' ; I have no reason why,

but using this surname, we find them at Ed parish in Karlstad stad, 1905-1910 (AIIa:3. 1901-1911 at the locality of Malöga) - this records records them coming from By parish (in Värmland) - I used the By 'moving out records' [ BI:5, page 53 no 57 ] on 9 Oct 1905 and this shows them going to Trollhättan (in Älvsborg län) and on the right side there is a note (but hard to read) that says they where at Ed parish by the end of the year; this also references page 63 -- By household records, AIIa:8, 1905-1913, page 63 (line 1) Svante Backlöf and Anna Maria and leaving for Trollhällan on 9 Oct 1905 --- BUT there is no record of them in Trollhällan 'moving in' records

BUT; reviewing the By parish 'moving in' records, 8 Jul 1902 [ BI:5, page 33 no 11 ; and no 10 is 'Jakob Svensson' ]
and references, page 279 --- AIIa:5 (1900-1905), page 279 (line 11) - Svante Backlöf (Jakobsson); he is recorded as a 'Handl.' [merchant], wife Anna Maria and a son, David Sixten born 9 Jul 1902 at By but died 5 Sep 1902

3. Residence, 1902-1905, 1902-1905, By, Värmland län, Sweden. ⁷²⁰¹ By parish was also called 'By-Säffle' and is about 300 kms east of Stockholm. Svante began using the surname 'Backlöf'. They lived in an area of West Delen in By parish.

7. Residence, 1914-1919, 1914-1919, Ljusdal, Gävleborg län, Sweden. ⁷²⁰⁵ Locality: Kolsvedja

8. Residence, 1920-1921, 1920-1921, Ljusdal, Gävleborg län, Sweden. ⁷²⁰⁶ Locality: Kolsvedja (no 3). Anna Maria and family continued to live at Kolsvedja until 12 Nov 1921 when they moved to Delsbo parish in Gävleborg [moving out records, BIII:1, 1916-1928, page 79 no 210

9. Residence, 1921-1923, 1921-1923, Delsbo, Gävleborg, Sweden. ⁷²⁰⁷ Locality: Ströme (no 4). Anna Maria and family lived at Ströme until 1 Sep 1923 when they moved back to Ljusdal parish [Delsbo moving out, BII:1, 1916-1932, page 42 no 60].

10. Residence, 1923-1927, 1923-1927, Ljusdal, Gävleborg län, Sweden. ⁷²⁰⁸ Locality: Brorr no 1.5, in Lillhaga. Anna Maria lived at Borr in Lillhaga until she died on 30 Mar 1927. The rest of the family continued living here.

Anna married Svante Backlöf on 31 Mar 1902 in Los, Gävleborg Co, Sweden.⁷¹⁹⁷ (Svante Backlöf was born on 22 Oct 1882 in Ytterhogdal, Jämtland län, Sweden,⁷¹⁹⁷ died on 22 Mar 1936 in Ramsjö, Gävleborg län, Sweden ⁷²⁰⁹ and was buried in Ljusdal, Gävleborg län, Sweden ⁷²⁰⁹.)
