- Family address (permament) at the date of son Gilbert's birth in 1932: Kali Lodge, Cartor Rd, Pali Hill, Bandra, India [west Mumbai]; Gilbert's birth was a Mission Hospital in Wai, India; date or "birth report", 1 Aug 1932

- the US Consular Report for Richard implies he went to India in 1926 and was a resident there until at least 1935;
this says he was born in Cokato, MN and lived there until 1910, then to New England, North Dakota, 1910-1917, then Minneapolis from 1917-1926 (no other address recorded (Gilbert's report only says that Gilbert Sr registered as an American Citizen in Bombay on 1 Aug 1932 (no statements of prior residences) along with a passport number and date of 9 May 1929, Bombay [this would likely be at the time of their trip to the US and to MN in Jun 1929];
- his wife, Ruth Alma Andrews Eklund was age 37 and notes that she "lost" her Bristish ... by marriage to American", married 4 May 1929 (in Gilbert's report, simply "not naturalized, not an American Citizen" and passport, "affivadet in lieu of passport" with a passport # and date of 9 May 1929 in Bombay

++ Richard's report - "number of previous children by present marriage ... two; Number now Living 'One' but this is crossed off with a line and next to it, 'Two' ...." ;;; this is also not clear: is this refering to Gilbert and Richard or is it saying there was another child born but not living ???? and was that child referring to a child of Ruth or a child of Gilbert Sr?

- born in Cakota, Michigan [error, should be MN ]; graduated from Dental School, practiced in Michigan [error, should be MN ] and spent for 16 yrs in India [if he went to India in 1926, then he left in 1942]
- he came to Reno in 1942 to start a practice
- in 1952 moved to Las Vegas
- survived by wife, Mrs Verla Eklund, two sons, Dr Gilbert W Eklund, 2nd, of Larmar, CO; R A Eklund of Houston, TX; a daughter Mrs Jean Ebner of Minneapolis; 2 brothers, Carla [Carl] of Cokato, and Clarence Eklund of Minneapolis; 6 grandchildren;

- Gregorich Family Tree records another marriage on 19 Dec 1939 and links to Ancestry's "Nevada Marriage Index, 1956-2005". I have viewed this link - it is somewhat blurry and is of poor quality, but it is pretty clear. However, I did review FamilySearch's 'browseable' marriage records for Clark Co, NV and pages for Dec 1939 - there is no record, although I did not view early days in Dec nor into January [unfortunately these pages are not in date order]

- if this record is correct, then Gilbert had returned from India, at least for while, in 1939. I have noted that he was a resident of India from about 1936 to 1942. ^7108,7109

  Noted events in his life were:

1. Military Service, 1918, Minneapolis, Hennepin Co, Minnesota, United States. ⁷¹¹⁰ Record shows he was inducted at Wright Co, MN on 10 Oct 1918 and was sent to the University of MN in the Students Army Training Corps and was discharged 18 Dec 1918 as a Private.

2. Residence, 1918, 12 Sep 1918, Minneapolis, Hennepin Co, Minnesota, United States. ⁷¹¹¹ The WW 1 Draft Registration record is from Buffalo, Wright Co, MN. However, he notes that he is a student at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and he gives his address as New England, Hettinger Co, ND (the home of his father and mother).

3. Migration, 1942, 13 Mar 1942, New York, New York, United States. ⁷¹¹² Arrival in New York aboard the ship "Wakefield" sailing from Bombay. Also recorded is son, Gilbert, age 9 with birth recorded as 17 Jul 1933 [error in recording or information given, since his mother reported on the TX Natuarlization papers that his birth was 17 Jul 1932]. Ruth Andrews reports that she arrived at New York (presumably with son Richard) on 13 Jul 1942.

Gilbert married Irma Naegele on 9 Feb 1922 in Hennepin Co, Minnesota, United States ⁷⁰⁹⁹.^,7100 (Irma Naegele was born on 27 Jul 1927 in Minnesota, United States, died on 1 Apr 1971 in Minneapolis, Hennepin Co, Minnesota, United States and was buried in Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis, Hennepin Co, Minnesota, United States ⁷¹¹³.)

Gilbert next married Ruth Alma Andrews on 4 May 1929 in Mahableshwar, India ⁷¹⁰¹.^,7102 (Ruth Alma Andrews was born on 14 Jan 1898 in Ahmedabad, India, died on 26 Dec 1986 in San Antonio, Bexar Co, Texas, United States ⁷¹¹⁴ and was buried in Sunset Memorial Park, San Antonio, Bexar Co, Texas, United States ⁷¹¹⁵.)
