Summary:
Berit Lucie Mikkelsdatter Midtdal [1826-1875] is a sister to my 2nd great-grandmother [Berit Sofie Mikkelsdtr, 1832-1899 and married to Lars Mikkelson, 1830-1922]
Berit Lucie Mikkelsdtr was married in 1850 to Morten Davidsen from farm Elgaaen in Røros parish in Sør Trondelag. Elgaaen or Elgå is on the eastern side of the Femunden Lake and essentially across from the very southern part of the Tufsindalen area of Os-Tolga parish [there are numerous relations in the general Elgaaen area].
Berit Lucie and Morten had 4 children. Their oldest, Svend Mortensen was born in 1846 prior to their marriage. Their youngest daughter was Lisbeth Marie Mortensdtr Elgåen/Elgaaen was born in 1859. Lisbeth left Røros parish in 1883 for North America. The 'out-migration records' imply that she traveled alone although some family researchers suggest that her parents also left. This is not accurate since Berit Lucie Mikkelstr Midtdal died in 1875 [I have not found any emigration records for her father, nor I have found any trace of him in the US.
In 1884 Lisbeth Marie Mortensdtr was married to Peder Estensen Sæter / Sather. They farmed in Brandsvold Twp, Polk Co, MN. Lisbeth and Peder or Peter had 6 children. Note that I have not reseached in detail this family, although I have recorded some basic information on Lisbeth's page.
Also note I have not researched Berit Lucie Mikkelsdtr and Morten Davidsen Elgåen's other children in any detail.

record that Berti Lucie died at Elgaaen on 26 Apr 1875 - this corresponds with the Røros parish book, deaths/and buirals
.. the above FT [Glen D Kolb] notes that Morten Davidsen had died in North America, but I have not found any evidence or any information on Morten Davidsen Elgaaen in the US records ... 4 Aug 2013 ] - didn't find on scan of Leaving Røros Ministerialbok, 1860-1878, up to end of page 522, 1877
.. the FamilySearch FT [LV7H-WV2] ... "Berit Lucie and Morten Elgaen immigrated to Minnesota, US with their daughter Lisabeth Marie in about 1883, according to Tufsingdalen history book" [John Midtdal's book, published in 1991]. BUT this cannot be correct since we had Berit Lucie's death/burial record in 1875 from the Røros parish register.
