The first known user of the Berg farm was Erik Eriksen. He was first mentioned in 1629 and still living in 1664-/66 and was born about 1568. According to the tax rolls for the 1650 years, Erik Eriksen is the one [person recorded for the Berg farm]. Per Embretssen [born about 1624] was first mentioned in 1665 [and at around that time frame] Erik and Per share equally the Berg farm between them. Erik's part was known as Bortistu and Per's Nordstu.

Berg søndre (Bortistu, bnr 4) The first owner of 'half of Berg' was Erik Erikson; Erik had a foster son, Ola, born about 1639; Ola had 3 children (Erik, Esten and Jon). Ola died around 1680 and his wife, Sigrid Jonsdatter married again to Esten Evenssen.
- Ola was the forster son of Erik Erikson of Berg - Ola had three boys - Erick, born 1674 (took over the farm); Esten, born 1677 (married Kari Olsdtr - see Gruva), and Jon, born 1681 - Erik, born 1674, had a son, Ola born 1724 who took over the farm - Ola, born 1724 had a son, Erick, born 1751 who took over the farm and married Magnhild Jonsdtr Grue, born 1756 -
In 1663 Ola Estenssen f.ca.1639 [ born circa ] paid the first lease on this half of Berg, which had been taken over by Erik Erikssen. Erik was the foster father of Ola. Ola probably died in the year 1680. Sigrid Jonsdatter was his wife and she was listed as a widow in 1689 and 1690.
At the council of Tynset in July 1699, there was register of men who were found skilled (competent) to perform the services of soldier. Under Berg it is stated, Erik Olssen 25 years and Jon Olssen 18. Both stated they were born at Berg. Also Tore Jakobssen is mentioned, see Strostu, 123-18.

Ola døde sannsynligvis i 1680 åra.
1680 to around 1720 --
Esten Evenssen f.ca. 1644 represents one half of Berg in 1691 [he had married the widow Sigrid Jonsdtr] . He is listed as servant in register of tenant farm leases* for 1674, with the lease transferred to a soldier in 1676, who was married to Sigrid Jonsdatter. In a case concerning fishing in Tufsinga in 1704 there is Esten Evenssen Berg of Dalsbydas annex witness, and he was stated to be at 60 years old. In 1704 Esten Evenssen wrote a letter to his stepson indicating what he had owned. Only the oldest, Erik Olssen, is mentioned by name. Erik was to have the farm when his stepfather dies. Esten Evenssen suffered a loss during a Swedish stay in 1718 and 1719 and asked for tax exemption.
*leilendingsskatten - from John Follesdal (http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~norway/na27.html) - leilending, tenant farmer, would pay a yearly amount, usually goods such as cow hides, butter, fish, etc and the amount was related to how productive the farm was, to the landowner (jorddrotte, land owner who leased out his land to tenant farmers); the landowners were usually the King (Krongods), the church (kirkegods), nobility (adelgods) or Farmers who owned the land (bondegods) - skatten refers to a register
