Summary:
Lisbeth Sofie Larsdatter, 1846-1931, was my 1st cousin, 4 times removed. Her father was Lars Nilsen, a brother to my 3rd great grandfather, Mikkel Nilsen [1765-1841]. It is most likely that Lisbeth Sofie grew up at the farm/house known as Bakken at the Femunds Hytta smelting house complex and community, on the western shore of lake Femund sometimes called lake Femunden.
Lisbeth Sofie Larsdatter had 3 children that were born outside of marriage:
[1] In 1869, Lisbeth Sofie Larsdatter had a daughter born outside of marriage - Gea Svensdatter born in 1869. Gea's father was Svend Mortensen Elgaaen. Svend Mortensen was my 1st cousin 3 times removed - his mother was Berit Lucie Mikkelsdtr Midtdal [1826-1875], and Berit Lucie was a sister to my 2nd great grandmother, Beret Sofie Mikkelsdatter Midtdal, 1832-1899.
[2] Johanne Jonsdtr Øversjøen, born 4 Aug 1872 ... father, John Svendsen Øversjøen. Johanne died at about age 19 or 20 on 23 Dec 1891.
[3] Olava Mathilda Larsdtr Karlstrøm, born 14 Mar 1876. Her father was Lars Olsen Karlstrøm. In 1896 Olava married Ole Olsen Moen [b 1874], my second cousin twice removed. In 1903 Olava and Ole O Moen left Tolga parish for North America, first going to Kitteson Co, MN, then to Alberta, Canada and in about 1910 to Skagit Co, Washington.
In 1881, Lisbeth Sofie Larsdatter married Lars Mikkelsen Midtdal [1828-1912] - he was a brother to my 2nd great grandmotherm, Beret Sofie Mikkelsdtr Midtdal [1832-1899]. Lisbeth and Lars M Midtdal had two other children:
[a.] Berit Lucie, 1881-1889; and [b.] Lars Larsen Midtdal, 1884-1965. Lars L Midtdal was also known as Stor-Larsen, but I am not sure if he had any children.
Lisbeth Sofie Larsdatter died on the 22 Jan 1931 in Tolga parish. Lars Mikkelson Midtdal died 29 Feb 1912

1. Svend Mortensen Elgåa [surname questionable]. They had one Daughter Gea Svendsatter 1869 - d. 1950 at Standwood, WA; em 1897. Gea was married to Anton Andersen Sandmel, 1872-1955
2. with Lars Olssen Karstrøm. They had daughter, Olava Mathilda Larsdatter Karlstrøm, 1876-1964, d. in Stanwood, WA. She married Ole Olsen Moen, 1875-1960
note: I have not researched [28 Nov 2024] Lars Mikkelsen Midtdal, aka Stor-Lars
2. birth from death record .... parish is a bit confusing ... since she was born at Femundshytte in Englaaen but in 1846, what was the proper parish - Røros, Sør Trondelag ... at this time frame, the boundary was with the Røros parish ... it wasn't until around 1910 that this area fell within Engerdal parish .... 19 Mar 2025
