Richard Andersen
- Born: 24 Feb 1860, Tolga, Hedmark, Norway 10387
- Died: 27 Dec 1860, Tolga, Hedmark, Norway 10388
Research Notes:
birth records in the Tolga parish register notes that he was born outside of marriage .... note her name pigen, Marit Svensdtr Sjulshougen, indicating that Marit was living at the time of the farm o Sjuilshougen
birth is noted through the hint from the Geni.com FT - see his father's page .. but it says he died about 1868, BUT the 1865 Norway census does not record him - see his father's page ..So, ... I reviewed deaths for Tolga parish, 1860-1865, and found one person named Ricard Andersen, died 27 Dec 1860 and buried on 23 Jan 1861 at Os church ... age 1 year [actually 10 months+] Tolga Parish register no. 6, Deaths/burials, 1852-1876, p. 300, no 3 .... died at Nygaard ... parents are not recorded [https://media.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/8907/286]
... Richard as a given name .... spelling variations: Ricard, Rikkard - I don't thinks Richard is a very common Norwegian given name .. it is seems to have an orgin with the England and the Norman Invasion ... hard, firm, brave, hardy and appears to have been from the German ... as far as I know, the name is not following a typical Norwegian naming pattern - first son named after the paternal grandfather, and so it would usually would have been Amund
. also Note: it was common that if a male child died young, the next born male child would take the name of the child that died .. that is, Richard born 1871
