Research Notes:
quick summary: .... 8 Mar 2025
As indicated Per Embretsen, aka Per Ingebretsen, was born around 1624, and he took over the Nordstu-Berg from his father. Per Embretsen's death is not known.
Sometime around 1695, Per Embresten divided Nordstu-Berg into 2 equal parts. One half became known as Nystu or Nystuen and was taken over by Ola Persen Berg, 1639-bef 1720. The half of Nordstu-Berg was known as Storstu was taken over by Erik Persen Berg - Erik's birth is not known and it is thought that he died before 1699
According to the Bygebok for Os, vol 1, page 51, Per Embretsen [b 1624] had at least 5 children.

Nils Perssen, Nordstu Berg. d. before 1720. Married to Goro [aka Guri Pederstr], who is in charge of the farm a few years after Nils died. Nils builds Åsen from Clara Jens Bing's widow in 1694. [ I'm not sure if this is the right interpretation ?]
In 1720, the heirs of Embret Perssen Berg, among them were the three surviving children of Nils Perssen [was a brother to Embret Persen]. The children renounced [or transferred?] their part of the inheritance from Embret to Embret's co-heirs Per Erikssen in Storstu Berg [the son of Erik Persen, Embret's brother] Nils Persen's children barn i 1720: a. Per, the elder took over; d. 1759 [Per Nilsen] b. Per, the younger, m. 1734 to Marit Larsdatter c. Erik

There is another comment from Thoralf Grue's book, Os i Østerdalene by Thoralf Grue [24 Feb 2025] page 355 farm Fabroåsen, gnr 120 ... 2nd last paragraph; [google translate, 25 Feb 2025]
In 1692 a Nils Pedersen Aasen drove coal and ore to Røros, and this now became the next user of Fabroåsen. According to a deed of inheritance in 1720, he was the son of Per Ingebretsen Berg-Storstuen. And it is possible that the Fabro name originated from there. According to the same deed, he was already dead before 1720, and left behind minor children. This also fits with the fact that in the wartime accounts of 1711 - 22, it is the widow Guri Pederstr who is responsible for the taxes, she is then probably the daughter of the previous user [** ... from paragraph above: Peder Olsen - first user/farmer we know of, is called Peder Olsen and was born in 1634*. In 1688 he was still responsible for the tax according to the land register. But in 1692 it was Peder Aasen's widow Marit who was in charge of the farm. They had a son Per who cleared Holden in Tufsingdalen. * This is not the same person, Per or Peder Olsen, 1689-1770]

STORSTU.
The first known man on Berg was Erik Eriksen who was born in 1568. It is possible that it is he, or perhaps rather his father, who founded the farm. This Erik is the sole owner of the farm until 1654*. From now on it is Per. The census shows that his name is Per Ingebritsen and he is now 40 years old, i.e. born in 1624*. He is the user of 1 Ksk. Berg. We may dare to assume that he is Erik's grandson, and that the farm has in fact already been divided into 2 for a long time. Even for Breen only one taxpayer has been mentioned until then.
* .. the 1664 male census on Digitalarkivet ... handwriting is very hard to make out. and I cannot make out the namem Per Ingebritsen, age 40 on the page https://media.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/35501/65 .... image 61, page 108-109 .... Ous Berrig
... note: the tax records note that Erik Eriksen was paying taxes in 1661..... and then in about 1664-1666, Erik Eriksen and his son Ola Eriksen are paying taxes on 'their half'. Per Embretsen [Ingebritsen] starts to pay taxes in 1655. The Bygebok for Os, vol 1, page 29 ... the Berg farm has two users, Erik [Eriksen] and Per[Ingebretsen/ Embretsen] and each pay tax for 'their half' ... in 1670, Per Embretsen [along with Ola Estensen Berg] buy the Berg farm, and then in 1695 they 'formally' split the Berg farm into 2 equal halfs --- Ola Estensen's half is known as Bortistu [Ola Estensen is the son of Esten Eriksen and was a grandson of the first user, Erik Eriksen]. Per Embretsen's half is knonw as Nordstu [Per was the son of Ingebritsen Eriksen and also a grandson of Erik Eriksen]
... Ola Estensen Eriksen, Bortistu, and Per Embretsen, Nordstu were 1st cousins 10288,10291
Per married.
