Ola Persen Berg

   Another name for Ola was Ole Persen Berg.

  Research Notes:

Ola Persen Berg was born around 1568 and he died before 1733. He was married to Ann Oldsdatter. The Bygebok for Os only records and mentions Ola Persen Berg's son, Per Olsen Berg, 1689-1770, and then further descendants who had taken over the farm Nystu - Berg.

Os i Østerdalene by Thoralf Grue also writes about Ola Persen Berg [but very little] and writes in more detail the descendants who had taken over the farm.

BUT ...... Thoralf Grue adds what might be considered only a possibility, in relation to the record on the Røros Boka, vol 3 regarding the farm Langen Nordre .... brothers Esten Olsen and Erik Olsen from Vangrøfta started to clear some land south of lake Håsjøen - this land was determined to be owned by the Røros Copper Works and the brothers were ordered to leave. Esten Olsen returned to the Os area, but Erik Olsen moved a bit further to the east and built the farm Langen nordre. Erik became known as Erik Olsen Langen.
... Thoralf Grue then writes: "It is possible that this concerns sons of Ole [ie, Ole Persen Berg]:
.... July 24, 1730 the futen [balliff / sheriff] gives permission for Esten Olsen and Erik Olsen Berg to settle on Storbedte, lying opposite Håsjøen, and build a tax lodge

This farm dates from 1695 when Per Ingebretsen divided it to his son Ole Persen. He is responsible for the farm in the accounts for the war years. He [that is, Ole Persen] died before 1733. This year Anne Olsdtr. Berg dies. 75 years old.. it is perhaps his wife.

Nothing more certain has been found in the papers about this family than that there was a son Per. ^10291,10292
