Martin Larson
- Born: 13 Apr 1879, Otter Tail Co, Minnesota, United States
- Died: 24 Jun 1946, Anoka Co, Minnesota, United States at age 67
- Buried: Ten Mile Lake Cemetery, Tumili Twp, Otter Tail Co, Minnesota, USA
Research Notes:
Note: Martin E Larson, son of Esten Larson and Kjersti Olsdtr was born on 31 Mar 1879 mostly likely on the family farm in Tumuli Twp, Otter Tail Co, MN. He died on 24 Jun 1946 at Anoka Co, MN.
It appears that Martin worked on various farms in the area, and in 1910 he is recorded on the farm of his half sister Lena Bothum and her husband, Nils L Nelson. Sometime after this, Martin became ill with some form of mental illness. In 1920 and 1930 US census he is recorded as a patient at the Fergus Falls State Hospital, and in the 1940 US census he is recorded as a patient at Anoka State Hospital in Anoka, MN. Most likely that while he was in hospital in Anoka died pm 24 Jun 1946. He is buried at Ten Mile Lake Cemetery in Tumuli Twp, Otter Tail.
Note that there is strange linked on Martin E Larson's findagrave page that implies that he had 2 children. However, after a bit of research, there was another named Martin J Larson who was married to Julia Foshaug and there 2 youngest children are the same that are listed on Martin E Larson's findagrave page. Martin J Larson and Julia Foshaug were married on 12 Dec 1907 in Otter Tail Co and the birth of their youngest son, Laurence/Lorence Larson is recorded on the Ten Mile Lake Lutheran Church records [image 6] and image 7 is their second child, Morris Julian. This confusion can be easily made but points to the importance of carefully reading the records [the father was Martin J Larson, born in 1876, as noted on his findagrave post].
