Note: Most family researcher do not record a date of death for Kjersti, and if they do, they record Mar 1935. However, the location is not recorded.
The West FT on Ancestry makes the comment that she died on "31 July 1925; on family farm near town, Sioux Falls, Minnehaha, South Dakota, United States". But the date in 1925 didn't make much sense, since the Findagrave post notes she died in 1935. To try to determine her death I first tried the MN death records, but there were no records. I then searched for the 1920 US Census for Minnehaha Co, SD, but again she is not recorded. I then started to review the 1930 US Census records for her children's families. Kjersti is not recorded. Finally I just search 1930 US Census with the name "Kjersti Bothum", indexed as Kjerste, and indexed as 'mother in law'. Reviewing the record of this family: Marius M Jorve [indexed as Jorne], wife Olean, then 2 children, and then Kjerste Bothum, mother in law to the head of household, age 80, born in Norway; married at age 17; Wd
Although I haven't found a death certicate or ND death record, it is a reasonable that she continued to live with her daughter, Olien and family until her death in 1935.
