- first wife, Lena Peterson from Viking, AB, died in 1933 [ she is buried at Wilhelmina Cemetery; name recorded as O'Lena; findagrave.com ]

- second wife, Julia Sanderlin from Strome, AB

- in 1920 bought half a section of land from his father - 3 miles east of Hay Lakes - SW and NW of Sec 35, Twp 48, Range 21 (this was CPR land - see notes on Ole T Movold)

- WW I - went overseas with Scandinavian Regiment from Winnipeg - 27th Battalion in France
