Karin Persdotter

Brief Summary: Karin was born outside of marriage. Her father was Per Jönsson (b 1843) and her mother was Marit Persdotter (b 1837). From the Östmark parish church records, it appears that she was adopted by Marit Persdotter (b 1839) and Nils Nilsson (b 1832).

As an adult she left Östmark parish for Segerstad parish [about 115 kms south of Östmark, and about 15 kms west of Karlstad, Sweden. She moved a number of times and the church records note she was a "piga" or servant. Karin had 2 children who were born outside of marriage, both with different fathers. It appears that she had no long relationship with either of her children's father.

Karin was eventually married to Sven Svensson Nord in 1899, but they did not have any children. Sven assisted with some of the upbringing of her daughter, Hilda Maria.

I have not found any evidence that Karin had a relationship or involvement with her birth mother, Marit Persdotter (b 1837) - see Marit's research notes. The extent of her relationship with her father was likely minimal.
