- he was a Lutheran Minister and Educator
- attend college at St Peter MN and at Augustana College and Seminary in Rock Island, IL.
- In Minnesota, he served Lutheran churches at Crookston, St. Hilaire, Eagle Lake, Fergus Falls, Detroit Lakes,
and Roseau. He also served churches in Wisconsin. In 1906, he became director of Northwestern College in Fergus Falls.
