There are a number of articles in Star Tribune (Minneapolis) or The Minneapolis Star - simply search his name
- I have reviewed a number of them - naturally most are about his hockey career, coaching, and some of his
character.

issue 13 Dec 1978, page 77 and 79 [The Minneapolis Star]
"Glimpses of Glen Sonmor" by Dan Stoneking
- he and his friends played on outdoor hockey rink in Hamilton- when it got too cold, they would go
into the warming hut
- went to Delta Collegiate High School in Hamilton - played football and pitched baseball and
basketball - he had said that he was better at those sports than at hockey [but by 1948 he attended
grade 13 at Guelph, ON - a photo from high school year book and a note - came from Delta Collegita
and played Junior A hockey at Guelph]
- for a time, he was a high school teacher and coach at Hamilton - he left and started a post-graduate
degree and coach at Ohio State.
- "he has always been a bit of gambler, a trait he probably derived from this father Cyrus
who spenf most of his life doing this job and that one and never completely content until he
finally opened his own billard parlor in suburban Toronto."

... many note his "love for alcohol" ... he had spent 28 day at St Mary's [hospital?] in 1981,
quit drinking ... "his battle with alcoholism was more public, and so was his fanastic recovery...

But: Star Tribune (Minneapolis) issue 20 Jan 1983, 1 and 11"
- voluntarily entered the Care Unit Treatment Center in Orange Co, Ca. for treatment of an
alcohol problem
- twice before entered treatment for alcohol ...

"Sonmor Story" by Dwayne Netland
- .... the Sonmors - Glen, Margaret, and 11 yr old Kathy [born about, 1955]
... are Edina [MN] residents ... moved from Hamilton
- re, Margaret - her father was John Mitchell - a scout for Toronto Maple Leafs, but from Hamilton
