- The four old farms in the Grue family - Klokkervang: "My great-great grandfather, Jon Jonsen Grue, built this farm in 1822, and my brother Arne is therefore the fifth farmer on Klokkervang. Jon Jonsen Grue was a school teacher and sexton in Os from 1819-1862. He had no formal education but was asked to take over these two jobs after his brother died in 1813 [Simen Jonsen Grue, born 1766). The name klokker in Norwegian is a sexton. The first farmers on Klokkervang had the position as school teacher and sexton. Our family history with sextons and school teachers starts in 1748 and ends in 1892. The farming today is based on milk and sheep meat production. Like most other farms in the district Klokkervany has also it's mountain farm, Kløftåsen where the cows, sheep and bovine animals is grazing for some two months in the summer time."
