one son, Walter Keith Broen [ ? other records name is Wallace ??] born 30 Mar 1926 in Camrose and died the 6 Oct 1996 in Edmonton *

-- Camrose Canadian, 4 Jan 1923, page 5, col 4; "Weddings"
- this is likely the write up of Asy's wedding; however, the page and thus the image is in poor condition, with a piece of 'black tape" in the middle of the article, along with the bottom of the page taped.
The following is what can be read: "The ma....Broen, of Armena, and [H]illand of Camrose, ... Mr. and Mrs. P. L .... very quietly in .... December"

3. a. Footprints Along the Stoney (1982), page 154-155

- notes that Asy had 5 children, 2 boys and 3 girls (but they are not named)
[ this also notes that Magnus Broen had 3 children, 2 girls and 1 boy ]

4. Obits:

a Asy T Broen, 1964 Edmonton Journal
- address as 9452 75 St, Edmonton
- survived by wife Emma; 2 sons, Wally of Edmonton and John of Toronto; 3 daughters, Joyce, Addy and Marion all of Edmonton

3. b. Joyce Adel Dougan - see obit from 2010; 1 Jun 1928 - 13 Jun 2010
- obit is short on details, but likely she was the daughter of Asy Broen
- survived by 2 sons, Kenneth Dougan and Robert Dougan, both married
- predeceased husband William and by brother Wallace Broen (*Walter Keith ?); survived by brother John Boen and sisters, Marion (married to Bill Owen), and Addy (married to Fred Smith)
-- from this obit, Joyce had 2 sisters and 2 brothers and this fits with point 3.a.

3. c. Camrose Canadian, 8 Apr 1926, page 2, col 5, "Armena ... Born to Mr. and Mrs. Asy Broen, on March 30, a son." Thus, this son would be Walter / Wallace.
