Carl Emanuel Nordberg

  Noted events in his life were:

1. Death - uncertain, 1878-1879, Sweden. Carl Emanuel's death is uncertain. The Östmark parish record (AI:27, page 5) has note that says he died in 1879, but the note also has a question mark written. One of the Ancestry.com Family Trees (Konkle Jr FT) has a link to an Ancestry collection, "UK, Registers of Births, Marriages and Deaths at Sea, 1844-1890", and on image 251 of 317; "Name of Deceased Persons", Carl Nordberg, age 22 [1856] on Ship Rooparell, received on 10 Oct 1878 at the port of Glasgow - there is no other identifying information.

Note that the household record (AI:27, page 5), the right hand column is the word "Sjörman=Sailor". This same volume notes that Carl Emanuel moved to page 625. Page 625, is the record for the farm, Obefintlige, Ömestorp, Hebel. Again, there are some comments on the right column, "till ..." ????, 5 Nov 1877. It is difficult to make out the word, I asked 'google translate' for a Swedish word for the "sea". There are a number of words, including "sjö" meaning lake or sea. And 'sjö' is very close to the word in the comments.

As I noted, I don't have any definitive proof that the death of Carl Nordberg was in 1878 (6 Mar?) and that he died at sea. However, the information seems to fit. I have used Sweden as the location of death, since I understand that it is common that the location of a death when at sea is for the country of origin,
