- Sadie Hallsten was born 3 Dec 1884, Dakota Territory - now in Bush Twp, Eddy Co
- Olof Hallsten (b 1838) filed homestead land in 1882, and in 1883 his family came - built in a heavy wooded area not far from the Sheyenne River; help from John Hedman and Per Landstrom
- Sadie married in 1907 to Henry C Flaskrud - he was born in Spring Grove, MN to parents who had emigrated from Norway; he came to Sheyenne area in 1898
- Henry Flaskrud opened a store in 1908 and continued with it until 1946 because of illness
