Married at Fåssjö in Ytterhogdal** and had a lease cabin there [torp]. Was caught by the Russians in 1808 during a war in Finland*. Then nothing was heard about him again."

2. Son, Olof Jönsson, b 1797

Jöns Halvarsson's son, Olof Jönsson (b 1797) left for North America in Dec 1872 at the age of 75, but the family stayed in Sweden. It is possible that he went first to find a place before the family moved, but it is not certain. And at the age of 75, it seems a bit unusual. The household record (A1:14) notes that he died in America in 1883. I do not know where he went.
