- came to the Claresholm area in 1903 with the Bergs and Finstads [homestead entry on 13 Oct 1903 .. and residence on 1 Apr 1904]
- 11 children, 7 boys and 4 girls
- at time of writing, 1974, 4 children still living - Walter, Raymond, Grace, Margaret
- Mike farmed and built many houses in the area; also a blacksmith

- rents home


4. 1906 Canada Census

- Mike, age 36, Minnie, age 34, children, Edwin, Raymond age 7, Walter age 4, daughter, age 1 born in AB (difficult to read name)
- Melvin is not listed in the 1906 Census (but is listed in the 1900 US), therefore his death is between June 1900-June 1906; location unknown (not listed in the WI death index)

5. 1911 Canada Census

- Michael, Minnie (emigrated 1904), Edwin (10 mos in school), Walter (11 months in school), Elnora, Raymond, Margaret, Grace

6. 1916 Canada Census

- Mike, Minnie, Edwin, Walter, Elnora, Raymond, Margaret, Grace, Anne age 3, Moses, age 2

- born near Throndhiem, Norway 8 Oct 1869
- emigrated to Wisconsin, at age 19 <1888>
- married 25 Jul 1893; she died 21 Jan 1941
- they had 11 children: Edwin of Peace River, AB; Walter of Fernie, BC; Eleanora (Mrs T M Peterson) of Seattle, WA; Raymond, Sergeant in the Air Force stationed at Mossbank, SK; Margaret (Mrs O A Bendixson) of Vancouver, BC; Grace (Mrs G A Breckenridge) of Edmonton, AB; Anne (Mrs H Clifford) of Sarnia, ON; and Moses on the home farm, Claresholm [ 8 children living in 1943; 3 dead ]
- 1903 moved from Wisconsin and settled 5 fives east on the Starline Road
- died Sunday night; funeral on Thurs
- internment at Highland Cemetery at Five Mile
