- Ole had one of the first sawmills at Robbie Coulee (in the foothills west of Clareshom) - many homes in the area were made of lumber from this sawmill
- had one of the first threshing outfits
- farmed the homestead until 1916 (same year that Olava Berg, Thea's mother died)
- retired and moved to Minneapolis, but came back in the fall for a few years for threshing with his nephew, Alfred
- moved to Seattle
