  Research Notes:

Ole Johnsen Moen is my 5th cousin 3 times removed. My great-grandmother, Beret Sofie Larsdatter Mikkelson, 1861-1952, she was married Thore S Grue. Ole Johnson Moen and Beret Sofie Larsdatter Mikkelson were 5th cousins, with their common ancestor Mikkel Soland Östgård [1647-1726]. Mikkel Soland had at least two children. His third son was Lars Mikkelson Östgård [1682-1752]. And my great-grandmother Beret Sofie Larsdatter Mikkelson descends from Lars. Lars' brother was Soland Mikkelson Östgård [1686-1756], and Ole Johnson Moen and his son, John Olson Moen descends from Soland.

** as the above records indicate Jon Olsen [Moen] born in 1853 left Tolga parish for Sweden in 1874, and then returned to Norway. However, the these records along with the next 2 do not give a location in Sweden. I have not found him indexed in any of the Swedish Parish Records.

This was a family that moved around a lot. They lived at Strømsvollen in 1865 and at the census in 1875 at Revrommet. In 1878, Ole got a barn at his parents' home in Moen nordre. He tore this down, moved it to Hølmoen and built a living room out of it. This procedure was strongly criticized at the inspection in 1880, and he was ordered to tear it down again. Around 1898 they moved to Kåsa.

posted on the above page on geni.com [by Hans Petter Engh, 2019 ] .... source: from above, John Midtdal's Tufsingdalen

He was a farmer's son from Moen Nordre in Tufsingdalen. He was married in 1854 and lived on Strømsvollen, which was a subdivision of Moen Nordre in Tufsingdalen. In 1858 he moved with his family to Idre socken in Sweden and moved back to Tufsingdalen in 1864. In 1865 he lived at Strømsvollen, in 1875 at Refrommet in Tufsingdalen and in 1878 he set up a house at Hølmoen in Tufsingdalen which was a barn he got of his father/brother who had been a house on the farm there. He imposed a demand on Røros's mining company, which had all the power in Os and nearby areas, to demolish the house on Hølmoen. He lived with his family at Nygård in Narjordet where he was an agricultural worker until 1891 when he and his wife lived with his son-in-law and daughter at Kvilvangen in Tufsingdalen and later at Kåsen Vestre in Holøydalen in Tolga municipality where he died and is buried at Holøidalen auxiliary cemetery.
