NOTE: the above Family Trees record another son: Marcus Nelson, born and died in 1872 - but no other information on dates, locations, or any source material ** I have not included Marcus on my Legacy database - there is a need to have more collaborating evidence [11 Jun 2021]
But, as with many Family Trees, information is often not complete nor do they provide much source material. I have not found Helen's step=children. They are not indexed in the 1900 US census. Either they died or more likely they moved to Canada ? NOTE: there are a few Ancestry FTs, but none are very complete, with none giving any useful information on the family or the children after 1885 ND State Census. Some record the 1880 US Census for Lake George Stearns Co, MN; but that is it.
Conclusion: Helen Anderson Nelson married Ole A Nelson and was a step mother to Ole's children from his first marriage. I haven't been able to find more information after the 1885 ND State Census on her step-children [11 Jun 2021]
Most of the FTs have recorded that Helen married Ole A Nelson about 1873, but no location is noted. I have not found a marriage license. She is noted in the birth/baptism record for son Ignatius at Northwood, IA in 1874, and then again in 1880 at her parents home in Stearns Co, MN.
Sometime after 1885, she and son Ignatius moved to Minneapolis and then around 1898 she and Ignatius moved to Nelson, BC. It is not clear why they moved to Nelson? What brought them there?
