1. Death - 30 Aug 1913

- Jake Langsjoen's manuscript (page 8) - died as a result of horse/buggy accident (horse startled by a car); Ole's neck was broken; buried at Parkdale cemetery.

2. [ 1 Mar 2015 ] Ancestry.com Public Member's Trees; there are 2 family trees, but they are flawed (seem to use 2 different people with the name Ole Swenson, both married to 'Mary', but one living in Buse Twp, Otter Tail Co and the other in Pope Co but for awhile in Clitteral, Otter Tail).

NOTE : (1) these 2 trees indicate mother of Ole is Carrie Nelsdatter, but no source citation; (2) 'pastor_stan' indicates Ole was first married to Margaret Johnson, born in 1848, and then a second marriage to Mariat Wright, 1852-1923 with no source citation ('amylucas3801' indicates 2nd marriage) - 2nd marriage is likely incorrect since he includes a source as 1880 US Census for Clitherall, Otter Tail for Ole B Swenson and Martha Swenson, age 32 (interesting that he also includes the 1880 US Census for Buse Twp, for Ole Swenson and Margaret Johnson

Conclusion: I have recorded only a marriage to Margaret Johnson in 1878 using History of Otter Tail Co and the US Census and the MN State Census; Note: most records show her name as Mary

- born in Norway 1 Nov 1842, son of Swen and Carrie Nielson [Sven Olsen and Kari]; 4 of their children emigrated - Niels lived in Fordenkjold [Tordenskjold?] who was killed by a falling tree; Marie [Marit] wife of Anders Rasmusen of North Dakota; Ever died in Portland, OR where he made his home for some time [ ?? Even; this conficts with other information ]
- lived in Buse Twp for many years
- emigrated in 1868 [actually, 1867], first to MN then for a short time to Wisconsin, then in 1870; homesteaded 160 acres in Buse Twp and then later added 29 acres
- married in 1878 to Margaret Johnson, born 11 June 1848 the daughter of John Ingelson [ not recorded in Tolga Ministerialbok in 1848 or 1849 ]; she emigrated at age 19 <1867, 1868>; a brother Ever lives in Sweden; her sister Ellen Sophia is married to Hans Merten of North Dakota, but first in WI
- Ole and Margaret - 4 children; John manages the home farm; Mary died in infancy; Carrie is the wife of Carl Johan Johnson and live on the Swenson home farm - they have 4 children, Orville A, Clarence and Myron Y, and Serena is deceased and she had married Ole Stinerson

SO, possibly dwelling 71 is some type of rooming house ??
- PO Pomme de Terre -- the first mail route to Fergus Falls from Pomme De Terre (Grant Co; PO established there in 1868, section 24 - wikipedia; now is a ghost town; the railroad did not pass through Pomme De Terre but was north through Ashby and Dalton; also Elbow Lake to the south became the county seat) was established in 6 Jul 1870, once per week; at first Peter Frones carried the mail in a bag on his back and a bit later he used a 2 wheel cart, persumably pulled by a horse/ox; Pomme de Terre is about 25 miles (40 kms) from Fergus Falls, traveling by foot; the first daily delivery to Fergus Falls came in 1879 with the arrival of the Great Northern Railroad (John Mason's book)
