3. 1860 and 1870 US Census index on Ancestry.com gives a listing for Nels Olson (born about 1809) living in Knox Co, Illnois, but not Marit; no listing in Minnisota, Iowa, Wisconsin. BUT Digitalarkvet "Nordmen in US Census, 1860" does not give a listing for a Nels Olson living in Knox Co, Illnois or a Nels Olson (born abt 1809) living in the US

5. no record in 1860 or 1870 US Census for Dunn Co, WI - under Eggen, Nelson, or Oleson (one Kenute Oleson, age 30)

== 1860 US Census, Leon, Monroe Co, WI - lists Nelson Olson, age 50 and Mary Olson, age 60, both born in Norway; also listed is Carnah Olson, age 20, as a farm labor; ??? age of Nelson and Mary put birthdates about 1810 and 1800, and so, fit; however can't conclude this is the same - - - - Monroe Co is about half-way between Grant Co and Dunn Co, WI

In 1871, the following came to the area of Prairie Farm, Anders Stensaas from Søndre Trondhjems Amt and Christian Voxen and Johan Iversen from the Kristiania area. About the same time came Nils Eggen from Tolgen, Østerdalen.

1. Emigration - 1853, 15 Apr 1853, Tolga, Hedmark, Norway. ^977,978 The Nils Eggen family left Tolga parish on 15 Apr 1853 for North America - Nils, wife Marit, and children Ole, Elias, Mikel, Knut and Barit.

2. Death, Bet 1880-1883, Between 1 Jun 1880 and 28 Jan 1883, Bergen, McLeod Co, Minnesota, United States. I have not found an exact date for Nils Olsen Eggen's death. However, he was recorded in the 1880 US Census (1 Jun 1880). His wife's death was on 28 Jan 1883 (see Bergen Lutheran Church Records) and in this death/funeral recorded it is noted that she was a Widow (Enken).

Nils married Marit Eriksdtr Berg, daughter of Erik Olsen Berg and Magnhild Jonsdtr Grue, on 24 May 1830 in Tolga, Hedmark, Norway.⁹⁰⁸ (Marit Eriksdtr Berg was born in 1799 in Tolga, Hedmark, Norway ⁹⁰⁹, baptized on 27 Jan 1799 in Tolga, Hedmark, Norway,⁹⁰⁹ died on 28 Jan 1883 in Bergen Twp, Mcleod Co, Minnesota, United States ^910,911 and was buried in Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, McLeod Co, Minnesota, United States.)
