3. Bygdebok for Os, p 57 [ basic translation by Rueben D Grue, 11 Oct 2012 ]


He was a practical (handy) builder (construction) and accomplished man with a large scope. He continued the family tradition with some blacksmithing, he was rifle blacksmith, watch maker, and made mechanical devices. He led the work to take down the old churches at Tolga and Os and directed the building of the new churches in Tolga in 1840 and Os in 1862.

[ Han var et praktist [praktisk] anlagt og dyktig menneske med et stort virkefelt. Han videreførte familiens tradisjoner some smed, ble riflesmed, klokkmaker, og laget mekaniske innretninger. Han ledet arbeidet med første å ta ned de gamle kirkene på Tolg og Os og de retter bygge nye, på Tolga i 1840 og på Os i 1862 ]



4. There is about a 11 year gap between the births of Ole Iver (1832) and Erik Jonsen (1843). I reviewed the Os Klokkerbok, births, for these years and I couldn't find another birth. So, it isn't clear why the gap - perhaps either were sick/ill for a number of years??
