4. Carl H Olberg, "With Pride in Heritage" page 398; Jefferson County History Society, Port Townsend, WA, 1966

"Shoe Merchant who arrived in Port Townsend 1892, became associated with John H Livermore, later with William R Lyle under the name of Olberg & Lyle. After seven years he returned to individual ownership. In 1900 he was married to Lilly Norby, daughter of Henry and Purnel Norby. Their children: Clarence William, born 1902; Leon Norby, 1904; Lillian Cecelia, 1908. and Helen Barbara, 1913. Olberg served one term as city councilman."

5. Marriage from The Sunday Leader, 26 Nov 1899, page 4 ---- transcribed from a page in Carl Olberg family file at Jefferson County History Society Library, Port Townsend

C H Olberg and Miss Lilly Norby were married last night at the residence of Mr and Mrs A J Anderson. The ceremony was performed by Rev B O Baker of St Paul's Church. [But] a few inmate friends and relatives were present. Mr Olberg is senior member of the firm Olberg and Lyall and has been a resident of Port Townsend for the past ten years. He came here in the employ of J H Livermore and by close attention and energy has worked up to leading place in the business community. The bride is the daughter of Mr H Norby, formerly a contractor and builder here and now one of the prosperous farmers of Tarboo [ likely in the Quilcene, WA area, about 75 kms south of Port Townsend ]*. The newly married couple will take up their residence in the house recently occupied by Capt Walters on Van Buren Street."

*This is a bit confusing -

- Halvor's homestead was near Hoodsport (abt another 120 kms south of the Quilcence). No other source, including Allen Dale Anderson's Ancestors... or Allen B Anderson's Saga..., has indicated that Halvor had land or worked a farm in the Quilcene area. In the obit for Elize Clements there is a note that says Peter and her moved in 1921 from Port Townsend to Quilcence River where they had a small farm.
