- police (and Coroner) reported that the evidence showed Richard shot his wife twice in the head and then had shot himself in the head
- a .22 caliber automatic pistel lay on the floor between the two bodies
- there was also a fire ($650 damage) that appeared to have started in the living where Mrs Anderson was sitting in a wicker chair - actual cause of fire not determined
- Richard M Anderson, Jr, age 19 told police that his father had threatened his mother numerous times - police took him to his uncles', Allen B Anderson
- Richard was an employee of the Seattle Park Dept; Ruth was a Nurse at Ballard Gen H - she had been convalesing from an operation
- police reported that a neighbor had told him that Mrs Anderson couldn't sleep because her husband had threatened her with a pistol
