Research Notes:
Summary
Gjermund Jonsen Lillebo was born on 25 Jun 1775, mostly likely on the farm Nørdre Lillebo. He was the twin brother to Gjertrud Jonsdtr, b 1775.
In 1806, he was married to Kari Salmonsdotter. Kari was born on 11 Feb 1786 at [Flötningen] Storbo, Idre, Kopparberg, Sweden. Remember that the people in the area frequently crossed the Norway/Sweden border. It appears that in the earlier years of Gjermund Jonsen Lillebo's marriage, Gjermund and Kari lived at Nørdre Lillebo, Kvilten, and Storbo in Irdre parish in Sweden. It appears that their oldest son, Nils was born at the Kvilten farm in Trysil parish; son Jon [1809-1811] and daughter Ragnihild [b 1812] were born at Storbo, Idre, Sweden. Son Gjermund was most likely born at the farm vestre Kvilten in 1817.
Around 1807, Gjermund Jonsen Lillebo and Kari were the farmers on vestre Kvilten. They had taken over the farm work from Nils Jonsen [b 1747] and Kari Svendsatter [b 1744] who did not have any children - Gjermund and Kari had agreed to support them as 'pensioners'. It is likely that Kari Salmonsdotter had spent time at her parents home in Storbo, Sweden - particularly during the birth of son Jon and daughter Ragnhild. Gjermund Jonsen Lillebo died on 2 Dec 1815 at Flötningen, Idre parish [see source record on 'sources page on my Legacy' and after his death, Kari Salmonsdatter had moved to the area around Strobo or Stoa on the eastern end of the lake Fløntningssøen.
Gjermund's wife remarried around 1832 in Sweden to Hågen Olsen [Storstu] and around the same time they moved to the farm at Søndre Svingen, in Engerdal/Trysil. Hågen died about 1856; Kari Salmonsdotter died in 1868.
Gjermund Jonsen Lillebo and Kari's 2 sons lived at Søndre Svitlen. Son Nils took over the farm at Søndre Svingen - was married and had one son, Hågen Nilsen - see his page. Son Lars eventually married -- see his page.
Note: it is very difficult to piece together the travels or movements of Gjermund or his family since they moved freely between Norway and Sweden. For example, the Bygebok for Engerdal [vol 1] records that the family left vestre Klivten for Storbo in 1817, but that is not likely correct, since Gjermund Jonsen Lillebo died in early Dec 1815 at Flötningen, Idre. But of course it is possible that I have mis-understood the entries in the Bygebok for Engerdal, regarding Gjermund and Kari's movements, or the movements of Kari and the two boys.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bygebok for Engerdal, vol 1 ... Nordre Lillebo .... see page 442, child 5 .. Engerdal, vol 1 but also see, page 346, Vestre Kvilten ..... Lars Gjermundsen [b 1817] had two children before marriage: - Gjermund Larsen Langfloten [b 1836] and Thore Larsen - Thore died a few months old in 1842
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- They [Gjermund Jonsen Lillebo and Kari] were the grandparents of Gjermund Larsen Langfloen and Hågen Nilsen who built S. Svingen, but [Hågen] emigrated to America - the sons Lars and Nils came to Engerdal at eighteen from Storbo where their parents moved in 1817. Kari Salmonsdatter, as a widow, married Hågen Olsen Strostu, [he] d. dom legdslem at Elgå 1856.
NOTE: Bygdebok for Engerdal, vol 1, p.442 records that Gjermund and Kari were married in 1806, but their marriage is not recorded in Norway Parish register, Trysil or Rendal, 1805-1807 [viewed pages, 5 Sep 2025] .. Geneanet FT suggests the Bygebok records 2 children mentioned, but likely more children at Storbo.
... however there is no evidence that the family lived at Storbo, Idre parish, Sweden. .. Bygebok, p 346. .. mentions "family moves to Sorbo in 1817 .... but it is not clear which family as the Household records for Idre, farm Storbo, 1797-1829, --- no record .... also there is no moving-in record

= Kari Salmonsen, as a widow, married the tailor Hågen Olsen from Engerdalen (Storstu). They came back from Storbu and both died here on a farm, he at Elgå and she at Sømåhaugen. p. 346 ... From records from the Idre Church Book it can be seen that Kari Salmonsdotter, as a widow, remarried Hågen Olsen Storstu, and they came to Engerdal again in 1832. He died as a farmhand at Elgå. He thus became stepfather to Lars and Nils Gjermundsønner who also returned. A homestead Hågen Olsen had begun to build in Endgerdals grenda is probably S. Svingen, which Hågen Nilsen built on earlier
... earlier, on page 219 [farm Storstu], Hågen Olsen and Kari Salomsdtter were married at Fløtningen and came to Norway in 1832 and lived at S. Svingen.. [Hågen Olsen may have built on S Svingen earlier ??]. ... Kari's son Nils Gjermundsen later built on S.Svingen
