I have a number of entries for Elin Sofia Jacobson, aka Sofa who was born 1872 in Norway. See her son, Joe Jacobson's page for detail.
The question on this note is who is the father of Elin Sofia's daughter, Elsie M Jacobson. The 1911 Canada Census record Elsie as a daughter to Elin Sofia, and that Elsie was born in Aug 1907 in Alberta. Sofia Jacobson's Alberta homestead record notes that she had taken out the entry for her homestead in late Jan 1907 and that she took up residence on the homestead at the end of April, but also records when not on homestead she was in the "vincity" living with her brother [Ole Jacobson], abt 1 km away. When she made application for her patent on the homestead she had two children. One of her children was Joe Jacobsen, and the other child would have been Elsie M Jacobson, born in Aug 1907 [thus conceived about Dec 1906].
From the records it is hard to determine when Elin Sofia came to Alberta.
