Gjertrude Mikkelsdatter
Gjertrud is a half-sister to my 2nd great grand father, Lars Mikkelson 1830-1922. Their father was Mikkel Nilsen, but Lars and Gjertrud Mikkelsdatter had different mothers.
Gjertrud Mikkelsdatter was born in 1824 outside of marriage - her father was Mikkel Nilsen [1797-1869], and he was my 3rd great-grandfather. Gjertrud's birth/baptism recorded is noted in the Tolga parish register - her name is recorded as 'Gjertrud Mikkelsdatter' from Tufsingdal. Her father is recorded to be from Femundshytta [the smelter house complex], and her mother, Ingeborg Olsdatter is recorded to be from Femundsenden [this is at southern end of lake Femund]. Gjertrud's mother, Ingeborg Olsdatter, was married in Sept 1830 to Rasmus Amundsen at the farm Røsten in the Tufsingdalen area in 1830.
It is likely that Gjertrud's mother had moved to the Tufsingdalen area to work, and it is most likely Gjertrud's mother was a servant at the farm Røsten after the birth of Gjertrud.
She most likely grew up at the farm Røsten in the Tufsingdalen area.
In 1842 Gjertrud married Rasmus Eriksen [1811-1894]. Ramsus and Gjertrud lived on Røsten, but later at Håmoen. Gjertrud and Rasmus Eriksen had 10 children, with one son dying in infancy and another dying at the age of 19. Two children married, while the others did not marry. From the information from Bygebok for Os [vol 3, page 61], it seems that 3 children had emigrated to the US or Canada
Gjertrud died on 1 Sep 1892 on the farm Håmoen, in the Narbuvold area of Tufsingdalen. Her husband, Rasmus died in 1894.

Ryen they lived on Håmoen for one year, in June 1891

Thus, ........ Gjertrud's mother married Ramsus Amundsen in 1830. But it is not clear where Ingeborg and Gjertrud lived from 1824 to 1830. Did they lived in the Femunds area or were they living at Rosten???
From about age 5 or 6, Gjertrud/Gjartrud and her mother would have been living at Ramsus Amundsen's house.

Ingeborg Olsdtr Fæmundsenden was married in 1830 to Rasmus Amundsen Røsten, Tufsingdalen. [John Midtdal does indicate that Ingeborg had her daughter, Gjertrud Mikkelsdatter with the father being Mikkel Nilsen, 1797-1869, my 3rd great-grandfather]
And Gjertrud grew up there in Røsten with her mother. Even after she married Rasmus Eriksen, they still lived in Røsten, but now as

Ingeborg Olsdtr Fæmundsenden was married in 1830 to Rasmus Amundsen Røsten, Tufsingdalen. [John Midtdal does indicate that Ingeborg had her daughter, Gjertrud Mikkelsdatter with the father being Mikkel Nilsen, 1797-1869, my 3rd great-grandfather]
