bullet  Research Notes:

Summary: Although I do not have absolute proof, it is likely that in 1868 Johannes Jonsson (b 1844) emigrated to North America and likely traveled with his sister Sigrid and her husband, Olof Halstensson. They likely came to Minnesota.

In the US, Johannes likely used the name John Johnson and for the most part his wife was known as Christine. I have recorded some of his information and outlined this in point 3 below.

So far (as of 9 May 2020) I have not found John Johnsson (b 1844) and his family in the 1875, 1885 or 1895 MN census. The first record I found is from the 1900 US Census. From this record it appears that I found John Johnson and family living in Minneapolis. Subsequently, I believe I found the family the 1870 US Census working on a farm in Goodhue Co, MN. In the 1880 US Census, it appears that the family had moved to Minneapolis.

From my research, it is likely he died on 29 Aug 1918 in Minneapolis.

More research is needed and since I have no collabrating evidence, I have not entered into my Legacy database the information outline in point 3.

- resident of this State, 37 years [1868]; this jurisdiction, 28 years [1877] - thus he should not be in Minneapolis (although maybe in a different ward of the city, but this is not likely); Thus, between 1868-1877 he should be someplace else in MN
