- Ole and Elin married in 1859 and he came from Trysil in 1859

But: Ole dies in 1905 ; Elin dies in 1900; and daughter Olina dies in 1899 (her daughter, Olina Elise moves to Lima [Lima parish, Kopparberg lån] on 27 Oct 1909 at age 18; she was age 8 when her mother dies, so likely Ole took care of her until he died [was she on her own after this or with her aunt, Ragnhild ??]

Biographical Sketch: Ole Ottersen Skaaret (1831-1905)

Ole Ottersen Skaaret was born at the Skaaret home place in north Lørdalen, about 10 kms south of Swedish border (or about 10 kms west). Sometime in 1858 or early 1859 he moved to the area known as Gørdalen in Sweden and this is about another 5 kms north of the border. Ole Ottersen was likely the first member of the Skaret family to move to Sweden. In Sweden he was known as Ole Ottersen. On 13 Feb 1859, he married Elin Emretsdotter who was born in Särna parish; she was a widow with two children. Gørdalen was a part of Särna parish.

Ole and Elin had three daughters, Pernilla, Ragnild and Olina. All three married and lived in Gørdalen, and in fact his grandchildren and most of his great-grandchildren also lived and worked in the Gørdalen area. Most of the work in the area was forestry work, along with some raising of some cattle and areas for pasture. Most places likely had small vegetable gardens. The people would also have hunted and fished and would have picked berries and so forth. Gørdalen is in a small valley with small mountains to the west and east. It is located next to the beginning the of Ljøra river that flows by the Skaaret home place.

Ole's wife died in 1900; Ole died in 1905.
